Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

How more long to good old days?

Can any Leader tracking this community share when are the layoffs, rebadging and other forms of reorgs going to stop and we focus on Vision, Future, Stability - without the fear of being laidoff ? Want to focus on positive side of the world.

Acquisition by other than another Blue plan is highly unlikely. They would not want the costs of marketing 2 brands in the same market and would not want to deal with the BCA rules. The Blue brand is the most valuable part of any acquisition of Anthem. Being a Blue plan makes an acquisition more complicated than a non-Blue plan would be. Other Blue plans may be interested, but they may not have the capital to make the purchase. It might happen if the company was diced up and sold separately, state Blue plans, Carelon companies, etc.

There will be no good old days with Elevance !!!! It’s a sinking ship, find your life-jacket and get ready to jump . If you wait too long, you will be contributing more on other threads where people are crying about not finding a job for over 6 months after being RIFed . The choice is yours - Fire or Frying pan( clocks starts now tik-tok, tik-tok )

Who were the people that thought our doom and gloom would be over soon? All I see on these posts are doom and gloom going on through 2025 and beyond. Better not to get your undies in a bunch based on today’s headlines. What good does that do you? Will it change anything?

I'm waiting for those that chimed in a month ago about the great messiah saving Elevance Health and the world from the RIFs and economic doom and gloom. What happened?

Which one of you hurt the people leader's feelings?

I will say this, the blame lies at the VP and above level. Managers, Directors, and even Staff VP’s (hilarious when people say VP of Staffs, wtf?) are policy enforcers, not decision makers. Sure, we can decide the names that get written down when a RIF happens, but we have ZERO say on IF a RIF happens. If you all think Staff VP’s are worthless, wait until you get to the VP level and above. They cant even explain the business we’re in better than a 5th grader could.

The good old day were when the leaders cared about the employees and service to the members and clients. What a novel concept.
That’s not today’s world. The RIF’s and offshoring are working to accomplish the goals of the current leadership. It’s all about shareholder value.
Decreased share price: Cut expenses. Today ELV is up 5% so far and we’re only 2 hours into the trading session. The market overall is down around 1.5%.
Expect more RIF’s, offshoring, AI rhetoric, and rebadging. Gotta get that share price up.

Looks like someone isn’t grateful for their job! Perhaps we need to look more into that.

Looks like Leaders don’t care about Health of humanity anymore and want to grab $$$$$$ and leave. They want everything except for their team members E15 and below are stuck for years in same role

@$200k people leader - do you know if the 3/20 layoffs will impact the Medicaid Ops side of GBD?

$200k people leader here. The dates are 3/5 to 3/12 to communicate AIP and merit. There are stock awards as well but those take 3 years to fully vest.

The layoffs will continue, next big one is 3/20 notification date. Layoffs will keep going for about 5 more years until there almost no onshore associates left. (see project infinity)

I am interviewing elsewhere, trying to get out as soon as I can. This company is a sinking ship.

By the way, the VP’s (not staff VP’s) make about $500-800k with senior VP’s and up making much more. I am small potatoes at $200k.

You’re welcome for the insights.

Has anyone been given their AIP/merit raise info yet? I was Rif'd in November and I was told that I would get AIP, but i'm wondering how tiny it will be.

I checked with HR and was told I need to be employed at the time of the award as bonuses won’t be added to the checks of those not actively employed at the time of issuance. Two weeks in the scheme of things won’t matter. Maybe I’ll get lucky and get RIF’d just in time.

no need to wait to resign until AIP is paid - it is already in the books - you will get it in March period -

I too long for the good old days of 20 odd years ago. However, they’re gone forever and I don’t see it getting better. I woke up this morning and just didn’t want to do this anymore. I’m pretty much at the age where it’s about time anyway. The constant “when am I going to get hit?” has taken its toll. Decided that I’m telling the director that I’m handing in my 2 weeks notice the day the AIP (if any) hits. Bye all.

If the #2 healthcare company is acquired by someone lower on the food chain while following the #1 healthcare company’s playbook then the entire SLT and Board should be 🔥’d. All the movers and shakers that made tons of💰and get to 💸 without any repercussions is 🤢

I don't think so acquisition will make things better. Infact, may make it worse. I would like to see when the things settle.
