Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

The politics here are unbearable

There are many things wrong with Wells Fargo right now, from bad management and toxic culture to constant layoffs, but the worst part is the politics. It feels like every decision is about someone's agenda rather than what actually makes sense. I've never seen anything like it in my 20+ year long career.

@e7 this is spot on. Every day is a fire drill. Everything is rushed. There's no thought put into anything around here. It's only a matter of time before we end up on the news again for something stupid that should have never happened. Maybe our lawyers are too bored these days.

The current execs only competency is firing American workers. That's all they know how to do. It shouldn't shock us that they routinely do d-mb things in every other area.

It's so bad we're actually losing people in this horrific job market due to stress. Obviously, these are the top talent that have the skills to jump. We've got people jumping to new companies and retiring early just to get out. I'm used to shifting priorities and executives bypassing process on occasion, but it's now the norm. Arbitrary dates that were impossible to begin with become even more impossible when everyone's jumping the queue every day. We're supposed to be focusing on thoughtful and well-planned change control and the people telling us to do this are letting everyone bypass the systems that were put in place to ensure safety and planning.

Whew. I thought I was the only one thinking this. Our leadership is seriously unqualified and I work in a pretty critical area. I just shake my head wondering how our exec got her job. When the s**t hits the fan she’ll get canned but she is destroying the department until then.

We joke on our team about what sh-t these a--clowns will invent over the weekend that we have to deal with on Monday. Unrealistic deadlines, horrible management, agendas that make no sense. I've been in banking 40 years and never seen anything like this current regime.

I once worked for a company that sent blank install media to one of their biggest clients just to avoid missing another deadline. That is a hill of beans compared to what I have witnessed at the ol’ stagecoach.

Tell me you've never worked anywhere else without telling me you've never worked anywhere else.

people are desperate and flailing around in full-on self-protection mode. reminds me of how many people behaved after WF bought Wachovia. it's gross.
