ABU severance

Can anyone in round 1 share what the severance package formula is for the ABU?

My total package is roughly 6 years of pay, plus or minus. I have 27 years of service. Don't know how the math works out. Seems OK to me, though. No complaints.

You can’t determine the formula used to calculate severance from just a single data point (eg your own severance figure) if the formula depends on at least one independent variable. In general, the minimum number of data points required to infer the formula increases with the number of independent variables involved. Specifically, you need at least as many distinct data points as there are degrees of freedom in the formula, which is typically equal to the number of independent variables, to begin solving for the unknowns. If the formula includes conditional logic, nonlinear relationships, or hidden constants (like caps or thresholds), even more data points may be needed.

This is why everyone is posting different figures.

@e9, Why don't you start calling around then let us know what you find out. Thank you for that, mate.

There are plenty more attorneys out there. We need to start calling around:

I'm watching as the downvotes rapidly change on the last 2 posts. Obviously, the same person is doing this.

Yes indeed, CVX needs to make everything more "equitable" for it's employees. Everyone should also get the same salary, regardless of your position. That would solve a lot of internal problems right away.

@e2 Consider yourself lucky to get anything. People who were DOGE'd were kicked out the door immediately and most likely will receive nothing. Jan 6th convicts are released, every day someone new is pardoned while hard working American's like CVX's employees get sc--wed. Welcome to the new reality.

@e0 I understand that. What I am highlighting is that they are really sc--wing us in the US, where we have ZERO nationalized healthcare, for example. That means that once our subsidized COBRA ends (medical coverage at same cost as our current employee healthcare cost), many of us are facing in excess of $800 per month of just medical coverage (not counting dental and vision, which are separate).

Laying us off in this sh---y employment environment without adequate severance will push some people over the edge. CVX needs to increase the severance for US employees to be more equitable with countries like Australia, given the formidable current economic situation.

CVX follows local regulations. The USA, compared to other countries, provides less compensation for almost everything (severance packages, vacation, maternity leave, health care etc etc etc)

Glad ABU & other global employees are being taken care of in this layoff (heard UK gets up to 2 yrs of severance).

My question for MW & ELT is why the US employees are being treated so poorly in this layoff. Someone else already mentioned in another post that many of us are facing the end of our careers. Especially for those who are too old to find other work but too young to retire completely, we are facing a horrible job market and financial ruin.

How can MW and the whole lot of ELT justify THEIR raises, when they already have more money than they know what to do with, while at the same time pushing so many employees out without proper severance to tide us over?

This needs to be publicized far and wide. Get some traction with news outlets and online forums. It probably will not change the outcome for us, but there needs to be more transparency about what is happening and some accountability.

I did my damned job and worked my a-s off, and it sure as he-l wasn’t me steering CVX into the mess we’re in now. The MINIMUM MW & the ELT can do is properly compensate employees in the US, in particular.
