I’ll share my story – take it for what it is. This may not work for everyone, but it works for me.
I've been on this site since before COVID and have never visited it on my own devices. I use company gear and log in whenever I like. If they catch me for this, so be it.
I don’t post often, but every other day, I’ll add a blurb. If there’s a rich discussion, I’ll chime in with a longer post. I share things that may be useful to others, and I find personal satisfaction in that. If Chevron (HR, IT, or any random manager) wants to fire me for this, so be it. I put in my eight hours, take care of business, and management seems to value that.
Again, if my using this site is a problem for someone, I’m happy to answer any questions they may have. Knowing how they operate, I’m certain they would block the site if they didn’t want us using it. Think about it – if they block this site, five new ones will pop up. The cat is out of the bag, and no one can stop the discourse now.
I actually think they’re reading this, scanning our rants and venting to get a real sense of the workforce. I can’t say for sure, but that’s my feeling.
At the end of the day, this is just my personal situation, and it allows me to be a bit less cautious than others.
Have a great night – see you here tomorrow.
