If there was a union in Palm Bay, Maybe there wouldn’t be such massive layoffs.
Tomorrow is Thursday. We will see what happens. Texas is already getting RIFed big time.
Yes, there are union dues and other negative aspects, but if the union keeps your job, then it’s well worth it.

Before you talk about unionizing, have a clear head about it. If a union exists in your location, no matter where it is, and you leave the union for a management job, it's a one-way trip and you can never go back. In spite of what a certain person says in clifton, you can't go back into the Union anytime you want. You would have to quit the company, wait 6 months, and then reapply as a new hire and go through the entire accruement process to get that time off back, which takes 5 years to get your third week and 10 years to get the fourth week. All of those smart as--s who left the union for a management job thinking they were going to get unlimited PTO were just d-mb enough to drink the kool-aid. Imagine that smug ba----d in Clifton who thinks he's an exception to the rule just because they gave him half a dozen non-union jobs since he left the union, and was terrible at every one of them. The only reason they keep him around, and have not put him on a pip is because he is a useful rat.
They treated all of the senior technicians like cr-p. Because they predated the merger and were part of the old ITT group. They knew what they were doing. And every time corporate floated down some new methodology that didn't work, the old technicians made the new leadership look stupid. L3 Harris tried to force them to comply with threats and innuendos, but all they did was drive the seasoned talent out the door into other companies or early retirement. And while this was going on, the Union stood idle and said nothing.
The union folks in Clifton, the assembly techs were pretty damn good. But they're disappearing. There was an older guy there I always counted on to solve the gnarly repairs but I think he left a while ago. I heard they treated him like sh-t.
Figured that. The new leadership su-ks big time.
Two posts were taken down about people in Clifton They must have been true. I guess they think we're' going to forget we read them too. 😅
@OP a union won't solve your problem. Just get out of there and find a better place to work. L3HARRIS is a sh-t company for employees and only exists for the benefit of the investors.
@e6 but it’s so BIG and labor in Texas is cheap compared to the east coast
Greenville site most likely will be shut down within 2 or 3 years
So if got hit in the RIF just move on
The union there is also corrupted
just does whatever HR tells them
Plus they are communist
Which interns equals failure 😣
@ag I was part of the greenville layoff too but have had several calls since through JS Firm so you might try that. Best of luck to ya
There has been a union in Clifton for the last 70 years under ITT, Excelis, Harris and L3HARRIS.
They take care of friends and family only. Corrupt to the core. They're in the company's pocket. They will let the company have their way with you anytime they want. They got a big raise but nobody's job is safe. They just walked a 25+ year employee because her coworkers didn't like her. There was no hearing and no grievance. There was no notice. She was escorted out... and she was alone.
@a1 - I see that one person voted down this post.
Kube was that you?
Unions are good in some places
The local in Greenville only gets raises pretty much it
I mean like they not even aloud to go on strike
What union agrees to this
Any ways I got laid off today from Greenville thank you union
I will not be bac
@OP expect strong negative comments and reviews from HR and upper management because that’s the last thing in the world, they want to see, is a union in Palm Bay, or anything that will actually help the employees.
