As long as COP doesn’t buy Giraud’s company. I can’t imagine having to deal with that dbag again

@dt M&A CVX is so big and these talks are always tight. Maybe you two’s buddies are working different convos

Your buddy must not like you based on the false info she is giving you.

Your chain is being yanked. I would find a different buddy.

@e6 cop could take them over - Marathon was just an easy target to wipe out

That’s asinine. If COP had the pockets to successfully takeover OXY or EOG it would not have settled for an underwhelming producer like Marathon. DVN or CLR, maybe but not sure if there is enough value there

ConocoPhillips has to offload some non performing assets…ASAP. Then Phase 2 and 3.

It would be a bad move for both. There are no mergers. One of the two companies must buy the other. Phillips bought Conoco and ruined both companies.

My buddy at Chevron M&A said it is NOT being discussed

CVX must sell HESS’s Bakken assets first, after which may indeed target COP or OXY

CVX or COP more likely to buy OXY.

It would more than likely be COP buying Diamondback or Permian Resources

If this happened, CVX would acquire COP. It would be an acquisition, not a merger.

It makes sense. But, COP has to divest about 20% of the company for this to be permitted
