Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

A review needs to happen for leadership roles within the India team, particularly L10 and above, should also be included. These are some of the highest-cost resources, especially when travel expenses are considered.Corruption is at its best with some leaders who run ICC or GCC
There is a perception that accountability standards are not being applied consistently. From what I have observed, some leaders have limited overlap with business hours, significant flexibility in schedules, and there is little visibility into actual productivity or outcomes.
The return-to-office expectations should also be reviewed. While the requirement may be three days onsite, there are concerns that attendance is not always being validated consistently. I have heard reports that some individuals badge in briefly and leave shortly afterward, while others may be relying on workarounds that undermine the intent of the policy. Whether these reports are accurate or not, they warrant verification if compliance is being reviewed.
In addition, overlapping leadership and management roles, travel spend, organizational layers, productivity, and office attendance should all be evaluated together to ensure consistent standards, fairness, and value realization across the organization.

Fast promotions of those making under 100K is the plan. Give them 60-80 hr work weeks, let them pad a resume and next.

@vj You got that exactly right! Promotion of young sycophants and nepo babies is the rule rather than the exception. Lying earns rapid promotions and bigger paydays. What is worse than this is that those in power know it. In the short term, almost no one cares.

@e4 promotion is based on how good you lie and whom you know rather than your capability

“Pepsico code of conduct is a joke, promotions and appointments too often based on factors other than merit, capability…” this has been my observation also.

@ba Until there is a proper clean-up of the poor leadership practices, corruption, and gross incompetence in hiring so-called leaders at the VP level and above in US or India or elsewhere, the company's stock will continue to remain flat. At this point, we do not need much more evidence that the company is being poorly managed by its top leadership. The stock price itself is a reflection of this reality !
Year after year, the same ineffective leadership culture continues, Pepsico code of conduct is a joke, promotions and appointments too often based on factors other than merit, capability, and proven leadership skills. Unless accountability is brought back into the system and leadership standards are significantly improved, it is difficult to see how the company can deliver meaningful long-term value to its shareholders.

The leadership issues at PepsiCo are not limited to India; they appear to be widespread across the organization including in US. Individuals continue to be placed in leadership positions despite lacking fundamental leadership capabilities and people-management skills. This pattern did not end with infamous G-ayatri's departure. During her tenure, she developed a reputation for hiring Indians into VP-level roles with little regard for whether they possessed the necessary leadership experience, competence, or ability to effectively lead teams. Unfortunately, many of those practices seem to have persisted in S&T.. one of the root causes why the company is in such a poor state . Pepsico stocks today $ 141 - same price like in January 2021
