Is that some kind of a joke? More cuts?

@e2 layoffs are usually done the week we are not paid.
@a4 according to Forbes they are closing 20% of their clinics nationwide. This could be a disaster for patients
@e5 I'd probably stop short of suggesting that Trump had any foresight and guts about anything - least of all healthcare reform (but, I guess he does have an outline at this point ). That said, very fair that healthcare is more business than service these days and needs an overhaul. I just refuse to give him the credit for the recognition of that.
@dz Thank him for having the foresight and the guts to see that health insurance isn’t helping anyone but those rich executives get richer while average people die or go bankrupt cause their health insurance denies everything . Who do you think picks up the cost of all those denials . Medicare does . The hospital bills Medicare for the billions that UHG denies the hospitals . Medicare pays them 50
Percent of their losses. So when Granny breaks a leg and UHG denies her hospital stay and pays them an outpatient rate for an inpatient stay, you the taxpayer is getting sc--wed. He knows this and hence he refusing to give them more money so Hemsley can get a bigger paycheck and their investors who own them, which happens to be private equity can stop getting richer on the backs of the public.
Does anyone know if they will only lay people off 02/19 or if they have ever done them right in the first week of them the month?
@a4 say thank you to your president, that clown who thinks more to ki-l his people than look after them, fascist regime!
You must be new. You will learn quickly. This is the way
We be Fubar....
So do we think this 02/19 layoff round will be even more than January?
The past 24 hours should have made that clear. Yesterday the US Government announced basically zero increase in Medicare reimbursment (to focus on defense spending goals), and at 6AM today UHG itself announced it will tread water at best and lose EPS at worst for 2026. This means that from 2025 until early 2028 at best the company will be stagnant.
How do they eek out that little bit of EPS? Layoffs, closing clinics, etc.
