It would seem obvious that the WARN Act will be dismantled shortly since the bill was introduced by a senator who would be shunned today, and passed by a completely different type of congress than we see today. Not surprisingly Reagan did not sign the bill.
No question today's administration will ensure corporations have as much power to layoff as many workers without so much as a grunt. Removing guardrails meant to protect employees is their goal. Pay attention.

Office workers need a union. That’s the problem. They classify us as management, but we don’t manage anything or anyone. Then we get treated like trash constantly. Office workers need to organize to fight back. Just like the field crews did. Only way this gets better for us and not continue to get worse and worse every year.

If "protecting employees" means companies will try to force you to quit by slowly torturing you instead of doing normal layoffs, I don't think the act is having the desired effect. Guardrails for firing people also tend to create barriers to hiring people.
