Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Overpaid managers ki-led Intel

Salaries should be reduced by 80%, until Intel becomes profitable. Managers must take one for the team.

Intel wins, they win. Intel loses, then also they win.

With the exception of the magnitude, not really different from C-level executive pay.

Intel certainly overpays - the severences. That keeps a lot of folks hanging around, with zero productivity. Intel wins, they win. Intel loses, then also they win.

@ek

Ok if you are telling the truth you do realize that is tremendously high salary for your role in this industry. You will not find that salary and compensation at other companies for the same position. In fact it is like half that. If you were to be laid off, are you prepared for accepting such a drastic pay cut?

@eh I do 400K+ and yes I am not a manager today. I have no reason to lie here. G11

He makes 400k? That can’t be right. 150-180k ok but 400k no way! Has anyone verified this? If it’s true it needs to be corrected immediately. If true this is exactly why we are in such bad shape as a whole.

Hourly Employee here: Six figure income for only working 14 days a month. Seven figure net worth with a paid off house. Seven figures in my 401K.

You, my friend, are misinformed.

@b1 do you think we are not below mediocre today w.r.t management?

High performers are attracted to high salaries.

Intel already pays below the competition.
Talent isn’t going to come here if pay is cut.

Cutting pay will guarantee failure and mediocrity.
