Thread regarding Mutual of America Life layoffs

As Clients, We HATE Mutual of America

we are a non profit and have 403b plan & we want to move it to Ascenus & we are being told we can't do it. our advisor and lawyer said your company can't hold this up and we are are exploring options. has anyone encounted this ? we are approaching our state's non profit association and BBB. state is NY if that makes a differece

@40s BS. Regional officers and service managers forced their employees to contribute-many against their will.

Ok, now you’re just full of cr-p. We haven’t had the United Way pledge drive in over a decade. And NO one from HR ever called us in and made us donate. That’s a blatant lie. That might have happened when Mr. Flynn was CEO, but that was decades ago. Complain all you want but stick to the relevant stuff.

@3e5 a similar situation happened to me. I worked in the LA office with Sev & Shanon. i said I could only give $26 per year and was only make $38k at the time. they made me feel guilty and said I had to do more so I bumped it to $52. hated them for it and always believed there were bonuses paid out to RVPs who had the best results for United Way. I felt pressure and it was not a good feeling at all.

All of the Mutual of America employees absolutely LOVE to fill out our Annual United Way Contribution Percentage CARDS directly in front of HR leadership.

One year I forgot to fill out my United Way Contribution Percentage CARD, and three months later after lunch was called into HR, with my BOSS, his BOSS, the Director, and our Division EVP.

I feared the worse, actually thought a family member was injured, in some car accident, or died, or some grave serious family announcement was being made to me by Mutual of America HR.

HR handed me my United Way Annual Contribution Percentage CARD, and a PENCIL to sign my name and percentage amount.

Was so happy no one in my family died, or was in some car accident. How everything appeared grave and serious in HR that afternoon. Extreme DRAMA all over not filling out my UNITED WAY Contribution Percentage CARD.

moa is blocking you because they are losing tons of revenue. you will have to threaten litigation to move your money. it's like health insurance companies and the reason why they deny claims. this is how they make and save money. cheaper to litigate then to lose a $10M 403b plan all at once

@e0 , Yes. Take out a full page ad in the NYT for $100k. Sounds like a reasonable idea to me.
