Thread regarding BP PLC layoffs

I thought Carol did an excellent job on the webcast and I know I’m not the only one who would love to see her as permanent CEO.

While the EVP level will undoubtedly go through change, how many of the board who helped create previous strategy, governed destructive business decision and ultimately led BP’s value erosion will change?

Anyone see Murray milling around St. James or is he on garden leave.

My friends, it won't be just the EVPs and SVPs who get the boot from the new administration.

@a6 the verbal response and body language to the Shell question was a strangely bumbling non sequitur. Perhaps nothing more than a momentary lack of poise but far from reassuring nonetheless.

@er Hopefully K Drysnatch will lead the way to the exit during the new CEO’s first week!

@dz what else could she do? She'll be in place for three months. All she can do is keep the seat warm.

As for the LT they'll all get pushed out, but that'll take 12-24 months in dribs and drabs.

@dz as they should have after the saga from almost two years back now

Seems like carol followed the same script as Murray when he was interim ceo. “The strategy remains the same, keep calm and carry on”. I would not be surprised if most of EVPs end up getting the boot when the new ceo joins in April.

I liked how quickly Carol got through questions. The answer to the Shell merger question was funny. “just focus on what you can control”. Ok.. just avoid that question I guess.

I wish I had a gold energize award for every time they said “AI”. I would be swimming in points.
