Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Layoffs started 7/16/2025

Messaging is major restructuring is taking place. People are who have not been laid off are being forced to change teams and learn new scopes of work.

How come CDW did not report this under the WARN Act?

@ed It's at the point where people work around him and he is out of the loop. The product development and SAAS teams find him a major stumbling block to intersecting with CDW's larger efforts in these areas because of his myopic approach. He seems to operate under the assumption that it's all about him and will cite his own experience, but all that is comprised of is a degree from a Bible College, CDW, taking on a role at another tech company that didn't last, and then returning to CDW.

@dz Remember P.K has a long history with Education VP back to when the VP was a Sales Manager. Fully protected. Read the Education post on here, someone has the inside track.

They give 60 days of severance pay to avoid WARN Act requirements.

@c5 I'll start it off. Pete Koczera, a third time(after boomeranging twice) CDW Director of Education is clearly over his head. Morale has tanked under thin and those of us that came from Amplified hate working for him. Some of us have stayed because the CDW legacy groups just told us to hang on, he would leave soon enough again, but unfortunately that hasn't happened. Some of us have set up a group chat to discuss his micromanaging mercurial approach. Either he is going to leave or we will, but when 30% of your team desires you, perhaps there is a problem.

@c4 iThat is incorrect I formation. And semantics at best. It was actually over 300 and let's not forget that we shifted to ",unlimited PTO, so these individuals aren't even being paid for what would have been accrued vacation time with prior layoffs. While CDE tries to hide who has actually been laid off, 48 hours later it is becoming evident that many of these people are now gone, and many were long term solid employees. It's time to shake up the Executive Leadership team. Maybe we should just start posting online the bad decisions made by these individuals on a weekly basis.

@OP because less than 75 coworkers were actually let go, the others have either until Oct, Jan and May to find new roles. Then they added in the LOU that on those dates in order to get severance that they QUIT. Leaving the coworker unable to file for unemployment.
