We have recognition programs, but they don’t seem tied to actual contributions. Some people get highlighted constantly while others doing similar work don’t get mentioned at all. I know I'm not the only one who's noticed the inconsistency. Talk about a morale ki-ler.

EIA is completely a popularity contest. I’m a top performer and it shows up in my other comp so I don’t care about the EIA recognition. I just roll my eyes and get on with my day.
I used to be all in and took pride in “bleeding green.” Take my advice from years of making that mistake. Don’t overinvest in a system that can overlook you just as easily as it can spotlight you. The system will take everything you’re willing to give and still reserve the right to forget you were ever there. Do your job well and be ethical but protect your life outside of Fidelity. Spend time with your family, practice self-care and lean forward into building something that belongs to you. I traded pieces of my life for Fidelity and I never got them back.
@dy until and unless there's a drastic change and these middle men managers are not pushed to recognize real talent based on merit, nothing will change
Whenever there's wave of change, the high performers have always been the one to get impacted as they're "expected to land on their feet" while the less deserving ones continue to get more opportunities while coasting throughout their career
Recognition and merit can't be used in one sentence in this company.
You're delusional if you think that's the case lol
It's not even random. It's purely based on managers pets getting all the accolades while the ones who are not colocated fade into oblivion when they're the ones who are always performing with excellence.
Merit? Folks with merits risk being pushed out by their meritless dinosaur bosses as threats to their reign.
You must pretend to be the yes man while quietly built up your clout. When the time your boss is exposed as the king with no clothes on, you might be picked up as the meritocracy replacement.
All in all, as earlier comment, don't expect this ever happen.
So glad I don't care about stuff like this. I'm just here to do my job to the best of my abilities and if someone recognizes fine if not who cares. As long as my paycheck shows up on time that is all that matters.
Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.
QA testers have become Dir and VPs. They are managing devs teams. They themselves don't know anything and resort to games.
Only when these folks are kicked out , situation will improve.
True . location based bias is at all levels including VPs . Manager engages and includes people colocated at same location so they get more face time with sr. Leadership .
out of sight = out of mind
simple as that.
managers pets at the respective locations ensure that people not colocated don’t get any recognition, appreciation, raise or even praise.
infact when 💩 hits the fan the ones not directly in same location as the manager is the first one to be blamed.
If you're not in same location as your manager so that you can kiss his a$$ then forget about it
