Thread regarding CDW layoffs

CDW feels like a lost cause

Sure, the people at the top are still getting plenty out of it. As long as the bonuses keep coming, pay keeps rising, and shareholders stay happy, everything seems fine. For them. But they don’t seem to think beyond that, or care much about those of us further down. As for the rest of us? Be smart. Start looking elsewhere, and whatever you do, don’t invest yourself in a place that won’t return the favor.

@dw One, because they're cheap and stupid. You get what you pay for. And two: Because that's their job. We're all here to make the shareholders (i.e. private equity) money. We aren't here to make the company better. Does it su-k to admit that? Absolutely. But you can't fight the machine. You, I , none of us, have that kind of $$$ or political clout. The only solutions are to su-k it up and wait for inevitable or move on to another employer--which is obviously difficult in the current job market.

I think I may know who that retired coworker is. If it is the leader who retired as a VP and moved to the Florida panhandle, things were much better when you were here Maria. You weren't afraid to fight for others and you were the type of leader we all admired and would run through a wall for. We miss you girl!

The problem is in legal. They are corrupt and racist. Led by two good ole boys in very important positions that are suppose to make sure we maintained the CDW way and maintained our decency. Once one of our cases go to court, the truth will come out on those two.

@bg Knowing how the CDW Medical Benefit program is sc--wing me he was probably let go because of his medical cost to CDW. I am not old enough for Medicare but now have the attorney looking at getting me disabled so Medicare will kick in in 2 years and pay for my medications. Worst company I have every worked for and if I live loong enough hopefully the last

Tom Richards years were the golden years. He'd be horrified to see what this company has turned into.

Why are these new senior leaders joining the sinking ship if they are supposedly worth their salt?

As a past retired employee of CDW, I am so saddened to hear what has become of a company I was proud of and frequently used to brag about. Back in the day, before Covid, it was a place I looked forward to working at. I had supportive managers and loved participating in the extra activities offered - BRG groups, Children's Miracle Network events and stopping by someone's desk to share ideas or just catch up. I wasn't constantly worried about when the next reduction in workforce would happen and if my job was in jeopardy. For those of you involved in these layoffs, I am truly sorry and can tell you from experience, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Stay true to yourself!

Post of the year. Respectful, caring, and very honest. Thank you. My best friend was laid off and he was a huge CDW supporter. He just endured a cancer threat and went through chemo and kept coming to work and selling. He only missed two days due to a surgery. He was so successful that he had a higher salary and customer growth payment. So they cut him to save that and assigned his customers to others, including some to me. He always defended CDW and thought if you work hard and performed, they would let you stay. But his success made him expensive to keep and now he is gone. They didn't even care about his sacrifices in coming in when he would be vomiting due to chemo. He loved CDW and really believed they would take care of him and those of us that were loyal and were performing. He was wrong and now he is worried if he will have benefits if he were to get sick again in 10 years. This is our CDW. I have begun to look and have prepared with the information I will need to compete at another company. Sad but true
