@1dk that kind of stuff has been going on at least in Clifton for decades. I started working there more than 25 years ago. I was required to take a written test and a practical skills exam. Followed by a 40-hour class. Imagine my shock when I learned that not everyone took the written or the practical. They were hired simply because of who they were. Some years ago, I was tasked with training a co-worker on a new program. She was hired a couple of weeks after I was. I learned through interacting with her that she was completely unable to read and that she obviously had never finished high school despite the company requiring at least a high school diploma. All of these requirements were overlooked for her and many others. It does not surprise me that people got promoted because of false stated credentials. Nobody is going to check.

@19p It's not the government that ignores the misinformation. It's L3harris. In order to meet their stated diversity objectives, they have to let certain people fly under the radar.
That is especially true with internal promotions. Nobody checks credentials because nobody cares. They're going to get the job, the title and the salary but the actual work will be done by others. That's where the real fraud happens. Hours upon hours charged to a job having never laid a hand on it.
But no worries. Because the work has to be done by someone, there will always be a job for "colonizers" as well.

@qc wouldn’t people be flagged when obtaining a security clearance with the government, when you list your education and previous employment? From my personal experience, they didn’t seem to mess around and were extremely thorough.

@qc Your biggest problem is relying on Linkedin as a trusted source of information. You can't get another person to answer an innocuous question about themselves, but they will list their entire professional history with explicit accuracy online for everyone to see?

I just assume everyone that works with me is 50% d-mber than I think and they still let me down.

@a2 False credentials? What about no credentials? Clifton has lots of people with false credentials or none at all. Take a look at some of the LinkedIn profiles. Job titles that don't exist, degrees they don't have and schools they never attended. Part of the problem was promotions made by unqualified managers that are no longer with the company. We're stuck working in the wreckage they left behind.
None of the BS artists are getting laid off in Clifton. Trust me.
Management needs their pet rats.

@jv those coordinates are actually several miles off the coast near Melbourne. Maybe he was in a boat when he was "let go?"

@jt I assume jh means that they got layed off from headquarters in melbourne. Those numbers are gps coordinates. So they are doing it today, right before christmas, this company has no shame...I just wonder what jhs did and I assume he wasn't remote if he got walked out

@dx we know about the warn tracker and van nuys for the love of God. There's way more to L3 than that location.

Clifton New jersey. The last major layoff we had here was in April of 2024. There have been smaller job reductions on this site since then, but they have been mostly related to performance issues. Some of the people laid off in 2024 have returned in different roles. Some have taken less money, others have been offered more. We are told that layoffs are not over company-wide but that they may be limited. Future job reductions in Clifton will be, according to our leadership, performance related layoffs. I am told by my manager, that that process will continue in earnest after the beginning of the year. And, that some of the people being let go, have been here for a very long time. Salaries, bonuses, and the future of job security will be commensurate upon actual work done and not longevity. There is an ongoing effort to root out those people that acquired jobs here with false credentials.
