Risk Roles Experience in Charlotte, NC

I know its not a layoff post but I'm genuinely curious anyone here work in the Charlotte area for a corporate function? Looking at risk roles and understand the 5 day office thing but also hear no seats and new hub is coming in 2026. Is Charlotte actually a hub? Not trying to onboard and then get told to move to ATL or Dallas. What's the day to day experience working at T? Can anyone explain a Principal title in terms of where in the org that sits? How's bonus, benefits, time off etc.?

@r3

I think you meant CSO.

Hamilton...another batch hire lived in Charlotte and was told he could remain there... Then stank said no and now Charlotte becomes a hub. He let it slip many times he had to cut meetings to catch plane to Charlotte. Also said wife didn't want to move at town hall introduction to staff.

How many employees fired for not moving to a hub? People from Raleigh now having to move to non hub invented for executives?

Charlotte NC is not a hub.

Tell that to baich... All CEO new domestic hires and even replacements for hub retirees are being replaced with people in charlotte. Proves this never was about consolidation or collaboration. Managers in hubs being put in charge of non hub people. Total farce.

If you are directly hired into the Principal title, don’t be expecting a promotion, ever. That’s pretty much the highest you can go within earning a stack of patents then walking on water.

We recently had an employee leave with one days notice. She had been told last fall when she was hired that she would have a hybrid role -- the big lie. She did not know that was a lie and came to ATT. Well, 2 weeks ago she told her boss she needed to be switched to hybrid as they had agreed to when hire. Boss said she couldn't, so the next morning she called her boss, told her she was done at the end of the day and would leave her badge and computer with either IQ Bar or one of her co-located team mates. Gotta love the culture Stank created.

@dv You never worked in ILM.
Why did the NAACP protest? Diversity did not exist. T closed ranks around the racist manager. The employee wasn't lazy or complaining but T failed them. COBC evidently doesn't pertain to management. Diversity is a joke. Nobody deserves to be call racial slurs by a management that tries to sweep it under the rug. Not a peep from CEO,VP or HR. Oh and the VP over diversity is a do nothing su-king a paycheck.

I’ve worked in NC and GA for a couple decades and not sure I agree with the racism comment. I sadly see lazy types use as an excuse they are picked on without merit and see our company go out of it way to promote diversity.

You have no idea how T works. It's not your fault because their world revolves based on threats. SE NC operates on racism protected by discrimination laws not observed but used by management for their own nefarious activities. I have never witnessed a manager say no, wait a second or maybe we need to think about that. You better walk that line or else. Jump on in with both feet and learn a new way to think, reasoning that you could never conceive on your own.

Ask a hundred employees and will get 100 to advise to stay away from this toxic culture.
Individual bonuses are on paper only. We also have numerous flawed reports so your boss will pressure you to stay at work longer instead of addressing the errors.
You will be forced to move to the overcrowded Atlantic or Dallas because our CeO has mandated such.
