Thread regarding Edward Jones layoffs

Make the field remember

ER is swept under the rug for the field. The jargon makes it hard to remember that GPs, LPs and coworkers are being laid off. Some of us search it out, but most don’t see what is happening at all. MP dragged this out so that it does not seem like a big deal when it happens. Make sure you are remembered. Talk to the people in the field and tell them the sickening truth. Tell them about your fear, your anger, your exhaustion. Growth will be built upon your sacrifice, willing or not. Make sure they know. Be remembered.

@eb too bad there's not more of you.

Cheering came from a L10. Said the cuts need to go deeper, HQ makes us no money, HQ does nothing, HQ is dead weight, he's the profit center. Gut punch to hear it. Not the first to say it, either.

@eb speak up. Send in a complaint. Tell other branch teams. MP and DC need to know this is unpopular. We are not Citi and we do not want to be.

@dv any person who cheers this on has already joined the leopards eating my face party- Jones edition. I know FAs who are scared or angry. It just isn’t enough of them.

@dv when they figure out their BOA's cant do their jobs without daily home office help they'll realize what this has done.

Service to the field has already been awful for the last few years at least. Long hold times, contradictory info, processing delays. This is only going to get worse for them. But part of me wonders if this has been by design, kneecap departments ahead of time and then use "poor performance and outcomes" as an excuse to cut them entirely. The field will learn what it's like to work for a firm that doesnt have knowledgeable on demand internal help. So many BOA's are woefully inadequate at their jobs without us. The clients will absolutely love it when this takes an even steeper nose dive.

The FAs are cheering this on. Had one just this week saying how it's the best thing ever. They want this. Don't be naive.

I told an Edward Jones FA today about Reimagined, there were parts of it that surprised them. #ImDoingMyPart

@aa it may not. Then again, who says this is the only round of layoffs? How many rounds before the field has some “reimaginings”? I am not saying they will change things, I am saying you do not want to be forgotten. The only people it helps for you to be forgotten are the people making the decision to get rid of you. Do not make it so easy. Make the “profit center” remember. Let them be nervous too.

So, whine and complain to the FAs? Yeah, that'll go far.
