Wow - we think we have all the answers, but we aren’t doing this internally… do as I say, not as I do

@dtt Every time I have to work with them, it’s the same circus of IRT “requests” that make the so-called Indian Center of Excellence look like a complete scam and time waste sh-t hole. Not to mention their aggressive attitude, sir.

I'll just miss part of a sh-t show getting them on internal call. Half the crew seems to be double- or even triple-dipping on jobs—pretending to be busy, copy-pasting nonsense, and inventing tasks just to look relevant. And when the mask slips, it’s always the same: the real work gets dumped back on us.

We’ve all seen the stories—engineers “caught” running three full-time jobs at once, logging in for a stand-up at Company A while turning in deliverables for Company B and C. And honestly, it shows. You get bizarre requests that make zero sense, delays that stretch for weeks, and half-baked “solutions” that look like they were written in a rush between Zoom calls for another employer.

That’s not “excellence.” That’s freeloading in turmeric disguise, sir.

No - Mark and all his direct reports watch these views along with slick marketing docs and presentations and can’t understand why customers are buying it. My guess is that the large shareholders and board are not buying it anymore. As much as we at OpenText make fun of IBM, this Ki-ler App ad from 20+ years ago shows what OpenText is trying to do with AI https://youtu.be/k-eBJGIKwO8?si=spLk0BB4q0VX1EvB Funny, JONATHAN
MANGUM in the video pitching the website with flaming logos, went on to become an announcer for the game show Let’s Make a Deal. I’m sure if he saw OpenText’s marketing strategy for AI he would call it a “Zonk.”

OpenText’s only hope would be to fund an AI start up and if they be successful then acquire them. OpenText is too micromanaged and bureaucratic to be able to innovate and grow.

OT never used their own digital signature management tools, nor do they even use their own document management tools. The whole company is absurd.

The bar is low internally. But our expect much more and I don’t see our tools being able to meet expectations, even if all of us are ready, willing and able. Unfortunately in tech, we are only as good as our tools. No marketing spin can cover that up. In healthcare and professional sports you can’t survive without being the best, however with tech we can try to fool customers, but like everything in life the truth always comes out.

We had KPIs laid on us to use AI to generate web content. Since the source was existing web pages it sp-t out more of the same. It doesn't really matter whether the new pages go up with the old pages or they replace them; it's the same stuff. But our CMO is happy we're using AI.

Surely the board and investors are able to see through the smoke and mirrors. Nearly every product team is damaged by the intellectual capital loss. Many are broken or in a death spiral of decline. No AI or cheap tech labor can repair.

OT lacks the creative geniuses on top to lead and innovate. The technical geniuses involved in product development have left, or busy dealing with the whims of incompetent management.

“Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don’t want to.”
Richard Branson

At OpenText the new way is
“Don’t train people well enough so they can leave, treat them poorly so they want to. Don’t have humans do work that AI can do”

OT uses AI to provide improved search on documents, which is the basis of nearly every NLP tutorial. Code assist technology is standard everywhere. OT top down management style has squelched innovation. Many of the top engineers have left. Those left are burdened by staff reductions and unrelenting corporate processes and compliance.

Management is complacent and incompetent. The rot starts at the top.

Are you taking about the nasty myth that AI would replace knowledge workers? Who would ever think/say that?
