Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Not even close to sustainable

Twelve-hour days, nonstop pressure, and the work of three people shoved onto one desk, this simply isn’t sustainable. The boss tossed out that smug line about working smarter the other day, which just made it worse. It’s not about strategy anymore, it’s survival. The message isn’t landing, and something’s got to give before everything crashes. This isn’t just burnout. It’s collapse.

If you are really working 12-hour days. You are crazy. Call Gail and tell her you need her to work with you so you can work 8-hour days. I'm sure she will strap on that Gucci belt and come and help you.

@dt true story bruh. I’m in a role right now where there is no work. I think we are trying to ramp up yo something but lack of work is painful. This company is so d-mb. The riff then a few months later hire a bunch more people in the area they just cut from. It’s just a waste and now we have whole swaths of the company that have no clue what is going on.

Some are working 12 hours a week. If you are working 12 hours a day. You are in the wrong group.

These clowns have no idea how to run a business. And no idea how to scale back.

They keep piling on tasks, berating us for errors, demanding longer hours, and then seem surprised that things aren't improving.

Recently left - feel like a 20 pound weight is off my chest - no matter how much I did - it never satisfied. My family was miserable, I couldn't sleep, I worried constantly,

I know for a fact at least 10 of my pals are interviewing, making plans to retire or just ready to leave and they will. This place is beyond toxic.

@OP it will get worse. There is more and more pressure to do more with less. Senior leadership is being tasked with reducing hundreds of millions of dollars in operating costs. That means replacing onshore with offshore, not backfilling positions, implementing AI/automation that doesnt work, and eliminating positions. This is just the beginning, if you can, get out. They dont value you and think someone making 6 dollars an hour offshore can do your job. Or that some half baked AI works when it actually doesnt.
