Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Everything will turn out fine

Even if you're one of the many who are losing their job, there's no reason to panic. You can always find other work — and it will be better than what you're doing now. After everything this place put us through, how can it not be?

Just remember that there are a lot of people out there just like you, who have been laid off and had to find new jobs. It might not have been easy, but they did it! And they did it because they didn't give up.

I have no doubts that every former employee will do just fine and find a company that treats its employees better than Seagate.

What an excellent point by the first reply. By the same reasoning, we can say there's nothing owed to the company above what we're compensated for. It's amazing how many things fall through the cracks and mess up the gears once 'not my job' is the reasonable response.

Thanks for the positive note. I have been laid off as a data scientist, but I also have been getting offers 2x of what Seagate was paying me. It is encouraging; and it also shows how much our talent was exploited. This is party our fault, being nerds - giving a company our time for the exchange of doing "interesting work". I wish everyone the best!

What did Seagate put you through you poor thing? Did they not pay you for every single hour you worked here and give you bonuses and benefits? Ya, of course they did...its called a job, and no company , including Seagate, owes you more than the compensation for the job you do...simple as that...stop whining
