Has anyone consulted legal counsel regarding their recent layoff? Recommendations?

@OP
I agree, class action lawsuit is the only way to beat their unfairness and discrimination actions...
You need the best of the best of attorneys:
Saul Goodman
Call 505-842-5662
If Saul tells you it’s useless to fight BNY, then it is.
@hk what was your win based off? Did they discriminate based off anything in particular ? Just curious to know if many others would fall under same bny behavior
You are an at will employee, but it is illegal to fire someone based on discrimination (race, gender, age), or for BNY to retaliate against you after filing a complaint, whistleblowing, etc.
I hired a lawyer regarding my layoff, and I know others that have done the same. Here are some of the firms they have used.
Outten & Golden
Parker Pohl
Vladeck, Raskin, and Clark
Lichten & Liss Riordan
HKM
Goodstadt
Filippatos
Nothing can save you.
@dq they don’t need a reason to fire anyone. It’s at will employment.
@ds
How long did this take and how much was your lawyer’s cut? Can you at least provide the city and state the attorney is located in?
Hello all, as I understand through legal consultation, their made up bogus performance reviews are not technically illegal although would look bad for them in litigation. I was successful by hiring an attorney and using the ‘protected class’ approach. Discrimination based on age, s-x, race, etc is illegal. Retaliation is illegal. They settled with me inside of 2 months and paid me for a year. I do not want to say which location or law firm I used given I signed off to not say anything when they agreed to pay me that much so don’t want this traced back to me. What I did was found 3 employment law firms and interviewed them. One had prior BNY experience and was confident could win. That’s who I hired and it worked. I’ve seen some other posts on here where folks were successful doing the same thing I did. I wish you all the best. A once great place to work certainly turned beyond dicey under the current regime. Looking at this site periodically, it seems to be getting worse.
Definitely go for class action lawsuit inquiry. Mgmt has slipped up and said what they are doing falls under it. Something needs to be done and there is alot of people who can be questioned and would love to be involved. They messed with so many ratings and terminated good people for no actual reason. It has to stop
What about legal action against an incompetent or biased manager directly?
Can't beat them, they have it all covered. Only way is class action.

Yes, they do have an employment division.
