Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Can we now finally focus on other things?

Like, for example, the issues with internal communication? Half the time, teams don’t know what other teams are doing even when they’re working on related projects. Changes roll out with little explanation with top-down communication either delayed or unclear. Makes collaboration frustrating, to put it mildly.

@ds Let me guess. Help me out and I will help you with the PDC? If you are severed, pretty sure that is an HR labor violation.

I was let go on Friday and still, my manager called me this morning asking for technical support. No laptop. No badge. They wiped all my access. And this lady that produced nothing, generated no ideas, drafted no policy or process changes….. she got a promotion. But they left her no technical expertise. Everyone is gone.

This sounds like every big company ever. If you’re aware of similar work happening in silos, speak up and do something about it.

Now the outgrew half of the company must suffer the same pain and misery, not that they weren't before knowing what's coming.

Internal comms….your expectations would be greatly diminished if you knew the people selected for roles.

You do realize there is a round 2 upcoming? The rest of this year is shot, if you made it sit back and relax for the next few months until the dust settles. No one knows nor cares about what work is going on currently.
