RSUs - why in VZ stock?

I was laid off with the Dec 19 crew. I got an RSU payout on Jan 20, another one on Jan 27, and then the last one on Jan 29 (yesterday). The first two were paid out to my Fidelity Individual account in cash. The last one was paid in VZ stock though. Anyone know why the last one was in stock?

Did they transfer the stock to your private Fidelity account?

When I was still employed with them my manager said it’s because people were not cashing it out but leaving it in their accounts so I guess they rather have the stocks sit there.

They changed the rule last year. RSU will now come as VZ stock instead of fidelity cash account.

confused me also. I didn’t want Verizon stock. sure I could sell but hate to incur a short-term gain tax rate. yet I doubt Verizon will sustain its one day success
