Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

I think I am done

It’s official. After over a decade committed fully to this company I think they have broken my morale irreparably.

Between being told in my performance review I went above and beyond and could not have done a single thing better but could not get an “exemplary” rating because too many were given, to layoffs and AI looming, and not being valued or appreciated at all, I’m going to start applying elsewhere. I miss the old Usbank. I loved this company, I loved my job, I thought I’d retire from here. They really just crushed me.

@h7 they don't give a cr-p. 3-5 years and then Golden parachute onto the board of directors where they can demand their stock options be more profitable at the expense of the workers.

Yup, just got the curbed today as well. Felt the storm brewing for a while now, couldn't sleep last night because its RIGHT before my pension fully vests, and unfortunately called it. I truly don't think this corp is going to recover from this massive brain drain. Sure bummer for us but it'll be their bed they made when they can't afford their 5th vacation home and lose it all on red and have to sell the company for pennies on the dime to one of the big 5. Hang in there OP, they'll eat themselves up there eventually, at least it could make space for someone with more than 1 brain cell take lead of the circus. The MC are all so incompetent that they figured they need a whole gang of them to do one "job", what a concept lol!

@dp while I would love to believe the job market thing is temporary, it's been like this for a solid 2-3 years now.

I get the feeling it's going to be like this for a very long time.

The job market is a fu--ing nightmare right now. Suggest you hold on to what you have, knowing it’s temporary, do the bare minimum while looking for other jobs when you can. You win if they lay you off because then they have to pay you out. I realize it’s all very stressful and cruel what’s going on. I can’t even believe some of the lazy leeches still at this company while good people have been sent out to pasture. Hang in there everyone.

@d7 I’m so sorry to hear this! Sending support and solidarity to those who may be walking into the same today. I suspect this site is about to blow up this week

I am in the same boat, 10+ years and remote. I just received my 0% merit and less than 100% bonus notification.

What a wonderful way to start the day.

Wait, are you me!? This is exactly how I feel. I’ve given over 10 years of my life to this place, after trying to get in for years. I used to love it. But now… I’m just done. I’m over it.

I am so sorry it came down to this for you. I know how heartbreaking it is to suddenly realize a future you once envisioned is now shattered. I hope, if you’ve been reading on this site, you know you’re not alone in how you feel. Hopefully it’s evidence that you have many that understand and stand with your sentiment.
One of the best things you can do right now is get active with your network, and your skills. Best case scenario is that you get to walk through a door to the future you envisioned. Worst case is that you’re fielding requests for an interview to consider.

I was told the exact same thing. I will no longer “go above and beyond” for this company. I will come in do my job and leave. There is no incentive to do anything else.

Don't beat yourself up OP, this was all done by design.
