@rt that's the cheapest way to meet the ESG criteria, isn't it? It's supposed to boost employee engagement... Ridiculous

Nice parting gift for the BT/IT team after their hard work to deploy SAP

Just heard that all the APAC BT IT teams were notified in Singapore and Taiwan. 6 people from our LEX team were let go. Not sure on the total number yet.

BB doesn't know that People join companies but leave bosses.

@av (Sarcasm incoming) Why would they do that when they can lay off the needlessly expensive Americans who have zero employment protections? I think they're going to switch as much IT to CWs as possible. I bet you anything this plan and the plans to decimate ESC and other functions are why the heads of HR and IT left. BB all but broke out in flop sweat when he was asked about their exits at the last employee huddle.

@m1

It’s an insult that 3M tries to take credit for the volunteer hours of its employees who do their volunteering without any thought or consideration of their employer.

@qx Yeah, this is the problem: I'm so busy doing the job of three people because they've laid off so many people but the work still needs to get done.

@jd sitting in rush hour traffic each day consumes all my mental and physical energy that I’d normally spend volunteering. And onsite volunteering is difficult when you’ve inherited several job positions.

My wife was awarded a 3Mgives Volunteer Award several years ago after being nominated by the site manager. The Manufacturing Operations Manager at the time commented that she was "a strong ambassador for 3M". She quickly clarified that she volunteers for the benefit of people in our community and around the world, and not for the benefit of 3M.

@nc Maybe they could volunteer to do some environmental cleanup then.

Now they are forcing the site directors to report 10% increase in volunteer hours as part of the yearly scorecard.

Used to be that volunteering as part of a team from 3M was a very proud thing to do. It’s sad that upper leadership has demolished morale to the point where the underlings don’t want to be seen in public with these leaders.

The top are forcing employees to do volunteer hours. Unfortunately the people at ground are quite demoralised and most dont feel like contributing it those senior leaders can go and volunteer themselves.

@hh That's every boss now. They cut everyone under JG16 and but we're left with the company robots.

The irony is that those people are the ones actively driving this company into the ground, with no new ideas or plans or anything. They're just trying to recreate the BS they thought was working 30 years ago.

@fm that stuff is annoying, sure, but the bigger problem is that my mindless robot boss believes that it's important.

The quarterly conversations that HR imposed is very annoying to the employees. everyone below is complaining about it.

I heard those ESC factories indirect support people at stake now. Quality & Maintenance teams are being challenged to be cut. Just wait and see. Low Morale and fear spreading at ground level now.

ESC heavily going to impact. Never trust that Stefan guy. Last time he said you guys doing great job in one of our townhall and laid off half of the team after 2 weeks.

@dn I work in factory and agree to the fact that morale is super low. Most of people are just doing the minimum to get by.

Employee morale is at rock bottom. No amount of engagement surveys would help.

Guessed the CHRO left as she saw the rot

@bx is the assumption ESC will be heavily impacted with these layoffs?

Seen last minute meetings and reschedules, but things seem secretive and dour moods suddenly (more than usual).

Heard there was a recent global ESC planning townhall. The employees bombarded Stefan with all the tough questions until Paul had to step in personally to address. The morale of the employees are really in all time low now.

Its okay to qu1et qu1t.

Heard from top level management that formal layoffs will start from 29th and go on until 5th. Rumour has it that 45% of the workforce in IT will be let go. Management had few meetings with folks that are going to remain and tasked them with additional responsibilities. Been with this company for 23 years and never seen the moral of the entire team so low. Everyone thinks they are on the list and management needs to be blamed for no proper communication. Its definitely not the same company any more than it used to be in the early 2000’s.
