Thread regarding HP (Hewlett-Packard) layoffs

This latest email tightens that collar more and more

They really want people on-site. Guess this will decide what site is next on the block.

Dell tried to do this exact same thing but couldn't force anyone to because of the different state legalities. instead they did things like remove bonus structures, promotion opportunities, and any kind of culture or contests for remote workers that didn't bent the knee. Most of us have been back in the office 5 days a week for 2 years

@dm yes, badge clicked started being tracked in January. First it’s being reviewed at an aggregate level not individually. If a team shows a problem, I imagine it gets looked at closer.

Can anyone confirm? I did hear managers will get a report quarterly of attendance. You get a month of missing time due to possible sickness or vacation since that can’t be tracked, but after that your manager will need to justify during that quarter. If time is missed.

Haha everyone else is stressing except for talented CWs like me who still get to work remote. Another reason why CWs are better than non CWs. It’s like the difference between being tall and short.

US only email? In any case is clear, if you don't go to the office the required days, you will be fired without any compensation.

It’s a silent threat. “Come to work or you’re going to end up like Boise.” But HP is never going to outright say “come to the office every day”. They’re going to simply say things like, “to ensure maximum collaboration” or “three times a week”.
