Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Friendly reminder: recommendation on LinkedIn

As we navigate this reorganization, take a moment to post recommendations on your colleagues' LinkedIn profiles. Start with the positive reviews and R&A you've given over the years. Employers outside of Chevron deserve to know their strengths as well. This will greatly support them if they are job hunting.

If I’m gonna be real: new profiles with recs are seen as incredibly suspect. No one looks long enough at anyone’s recs. All that matters is whether you have a referral or not, and if your key words match the ATS. Cosplaying on LinkedIn won’t help. Don’t waste time

@dm+1jtpapzgg, Yes you are obtuse if you don't update your profile and look for a real job after this little do-nothing playpen that you have been playing in, dum@ss.

If you’ve been paying attention, our country is currently run by pedos, not giving your coworkers recommendations on LinkedIn is likely not the best way to take a stance. I would suggest something more obvious…. Maybe call your elected officials? And while you’re on hold, head over to LI to do your colleagues a solid by publicly acknowledging their work.

@ap+1: I’m talking about recs, dum--ss. Calling me obtuse when that went over your head is really rich.

LinkedIn is owned by a pedo. Will pass.

This is a really great idea. Most of the people I have worked with in my 15+ years are good solid people. Many I would recommend - some I will quietly lose touch with. But overall, grateful for the day to day and happy to highlight the strengths I see in my colleagues on a more public forum. Chevron does such a good job sheltering employees from external networks and even shortchanges us with job titles that don’t compete clearly in most industries. I’d happily take the time to amp up good people.

lol. I’ve already seen a ton of yall in the “do nothing fluff role” camp spin up new LinkedIns and stack up fake recs (all within the same week) that try to make yall sound technical and important. Lmao. Yall think recruirers and hiring managers can’t see through that? Your “release train engineer”, “agile coach”, “PO” bs roles will be exposed. Enjoy having to look for a job after 10+ years of sitting on your a-s in meetings, pretending with zero skills! I’m sure the current and future markets will reward your tenure at Chevron! You’re so special!
