Thread regarding Anthem Inc. layoffs

Paycheck delayed

I normally get my paycheck deposited (early deposit feature) around 9:17p on Wednesdays (since the payslip date changes, used to be Wednesday at 2:20p) like clockwork. It hasn't gone through yet but payslips are posted? Anyone else?

@1gbi+1p3o4ptO Why do you assume the person asking the question wasn’t RIFed? What if they were new to the company, less than a year? This paycheck along with the 2 they get after 10/20 are extremely important.

Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.

Use a credit union they post the paycheck money as soon as they receive it . It usually posts Wednesday mornings…finally hit Thursday morning..I understand this is a site about layoffs. However, it’s concerning with all the town hall meetings regarding AI and Offshore nursing positions, and some recent layoffs.

It’s a wee bit funny that there is at least a small chance that you are telling a beloved coworker or boss to fu-k off.

Ask a coworker — not a group of people who aren’t getting paychecks.

Do people have to be mean? No BUT In their defense OP should read the room. Hundreds of people (if not thousands) have been and will be laid off. Subject to supplement income and unemployment payments. Your paycheck being delayed is not a pressing issue for us. You were too lazy or not concerned enough to check with your bank or with HR so try to understand the reaction.

@1ftf+1p3o4ptO it must be so exhausting being so rude and miserable. Try being a decent person, it’s pretty refreshing.

Poor babies. They didn’t get paid early on Wednesday even though the average worker gets paid on Friday or the 1st and 15th. So privileged they cry about paydays because they aren’t responsible with their funds. You fu-k off.

For those saying this is a lay off site and stop talking about other items, you can easily scroll past the post if you aren’t interested in the topic. It’s not like the post tricked you into thinking it was about a layoff. You knew what the post was about when you clicked on it. It’s not hard to be kind, why don’t you try it.

They are probably holding wages for another day to earn interest in their account. Multiply 10's of thousands of employees' pay by 1 day and I bet its like hundreds of thousands of dollars a day they earn in interest if the money is in their account and not yours.

I bank through a credit union usually same early deposit date for years. My husband works for a different company and got his at the normal date/time. I still don’t have my check. So it must be just anthem. It’s frustrating but I will wait until tomorrow before searching for it.

Same. I have 2 bank accounts at different banks who both offer early payday, usually paid on Wednesday but still waiting on my paycheck to hit both accounts. So great when you have auto pay turned on for anything.

OP here replying to the handle your finance: I posted this as layoffs and disruption of paychecks seem to go hand in hand. My finances are fine. Just seeing if it’s a larger issue with the company.

Looks like people are living minute by minute not hour by hour or paycheck to paycheck. 9:17p ? 2:20p ? Its Thursday maybe your last paycheck will be delivered to you today.

I’m wondering if it’s because of the holiday on Monday & banks were closed? I believe this is our first “holiday” week check since they changed payslip date. Mine is delayed as well but to the haters - I’m good, bills paid 🤣

I just talked to HR.... there is a banking issue, not just Elevance Health. Other payroll deposits from different employers are supposedly held up also.

@wmh+1p3o4ptO f*ck off.
