Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

Post on Glassdoor

If you are disappointed with Fidelity then don't limit your posts to a hidden forum like TheLayoff. Go to Glassdoor or other more public review sites and share your experiences there. Yes Fidelity can and does game the system but even a few negative reviews can help someone avoid a mistake and maybe bring the score closer to where it belongs.

not for nothing, but all I see is positive reviews on Glassdoor.

Back on topic, I agree about posting on Glassdoor. Like others I had to try a few times before it was accepted. It kept telling me I was referring to someone by name or association when I wasn't. Whether my post impacts the score or awards for Fidelity I don't know or care. Glassdoor exists to review employers and that's what I did.

@dk even if they need the job at least they'll know what they're getting into. And what part of the word 'anonymous' is too hard for you to understand?

won't work...people are out of work and need jobs. If there is an opening at Fidelity, people will apply not matter what you have written. You're wasting your time and making a bad name for yourself..seriously. Take the severance and move on. You're in the first few stages of grief after a layoff. The anger will pass and you'll move on and just be grateful it happened. Yes, I've been there so I speak from experience. Just get your jollies by coming here and watch people complain with the realization that it is not you suffering this mess anymore.

When you make your Glassdoor posts call out specific issues. Empty bad reviews won't do anything. A bunch of bad reviews that mention the same problems stand out.

If you got benefits that are not required by law, 99% of you did.. lots of benefits, then being petty or bitter on a public career forum is not going to hit the way you think it will. Every company worth its weight will know that the people hit by layoffs from Fidelity got treated greatly, Large severance, prorated bonuses, a few months of TA, etc.. When they see yall on a forum being uncontrollably emotional and bitter, theyre going to know to stay away from those people.

Layoffs happen, the company (who pays you for a service) is well within its rights to cut ties where and when it benefits the company.. not the employee. Refrain from signing your name on a public statement that does nothing but make you look like an emotional smooth brain, nobody wants that as an employee. Not even just this, who wants to know that they’re this kind of person? couldn’t be me.

Reddit is another good place to post. Create a throwaway account if you want to be extra careful.

Posted my review months ago. They deserve plenty more. Most of those Best Place to Work awards are bought and paid for anyways.

If you do make a negative post with a lot of information keep an eye on it because Glassdoor will sometimes delete it. They say they don't but it's happened to me twice before.

I had to try a couple of times because Glassdoor kept rejecting my negative review claiming it violated their terms when it didn't but eventually mine was accepted. It would be great if enough people posted that it took away the best place to work award.
