Losing faith in Marketing Leadership

In October 2019, Marketing went through a transition. At that time, everyone that chose to remain had to work in Bloomington or one of the other 3 Hubs. We lost some talented individuals, the majority at the analyst level (low on totem pole). We lost no executives, one Director and to this day he remains in his role because we “need” him, and, Marketing has promoted two LDA’s to Director roles. A little top heavy?
And now we are all working remotely just fine, exactly the main reason for which we let many good remote workers go. Interesting how we have been hiring mostly from the streets to fill head count. Younger, less expensive talent to replace the more expensive, knowledgeable but apparently less desirable talent.
Frustration all around and our leadership thinks we are blind to it all. Not the case, we see it but have no where to turn to call them out. So I have resorted to this as my space to vent.

@cued - it’s sad that you chose an anonymous place to “bully” people. You are pathetic. I’m sure you don’t have the guts to say those things to those people’s faces. I feel sorry for you.

@deos and @dgyz, @cued here. Too late to give me the boot. I left on my own volition. Thank god too because the marketing department is being run into the ground. If you’re one of the sorry saps still there, watch your back. Those b*tches are ruthless.

You’re “losing” faith? Well you’re doing better than me because I’ve completely lost faith, trust and respect in all Marketing “leadership”.

LR is a nice guy, but he’s not really a true “leader”. And if he heard all the insulting comments, laughter and disrespect that happens behind his back among “leaders” who work directly with and below him, he’d be shocked.

PM is guilty of it. And she’s totally full of herself. Which is hard because just look at her, she’s rarely ever full! She really should be let go. Either that or get rid of everyone working under her because she doesn’t value them or listen to a single thing they say. Apparently she threw a huge temper tantrum because she didn’t get to be in the latest commercial with MT. That’s what a fat baby does, not a great leader. Marketing needs to bring in a leader from the outside to fix her stupid “here to help life go horribly wrong” sh*tshow that failed miserably.

EW exists only to yammer on about numbers and and then yammer on Yammer about yammering on Yammer.

I can’t think of one director that’s worth talking about on here to even justify why they have a director position.

SB should’ve been shoved out the door when her husband got the boot since he’s the only reason she’s now a director. But he was smart, he left her behind in a classic “dump and run” move. Thanks DB!

MC is too busy trying to climb the ladder to care what his people do, so he’s completely useless to our team.

LM is a space case and doesn’t seem to get it. She must have slept with someone to get to where she’s at.

LL is probably one of the least qualified of them all. The only reason she’s in Marketing is because she was put on a special project (something they do here at State Farm when they can’t figure out what real value you bring to the organization, so they give you something that sounds great but is really just busy work to keep you occupied until they can figure out who to pawn you off on) and was eventually shoved into Marketing when they drew the short stick.

EG gets it, but his role could easily be done as a manager. There’s no need for him to be a director.

And there are too many incompetent managers to list them all, so I’ll let others continue to fill the page, but one positive thing brought on by the pandemic is that me and my friends are so much happier now that we don’t have to listen to that stupid waste of space SL stomp through the halls and yell at the top of her lungs.

The only reason she’s even a manager is because she was in the right place at the right time and got promoted 50 years ago when they were handing out MG jobs like they were candy. She doesn’t belong in Marketing and she doesn’t belong in “leadership”. She’s not a “leader”, she’s an emotional wreck who can’t make an informed business decision to save her life. And what’s sad is that her whole team can’t stand her either. But what’s even sadder is that she actually thinks she looks good the tacky knock off “designer” c-ap she wears.

I guess their new movie will wow customers and make everyone happy. They care about all and all of humanity and genuine! Don’t forget that!

It's hard to believe that HR is not stepping to let the director go as part of the transition plan. Leadership had to read from HR scripts to inform Directors, Managers and RA4's that they had to take pay cuts, involuntary severance and that all leadership had to move to Bloomington. It appears that the only one that is spared is the lone director. That just doesn't seem right, when everyone else had families financially hurt by the transition.

We just brought in outside executive from a grocery retailer. Maybe his experiences will change the culture for the better

The biggest cost and expense Indeed is Execs Managers and Tech Managers yet they easily release Lowe level folks and get big bonus and call it “budgeting”. Literally. They do little to impact bottom line from what Ive seen other than buy third party shady packages and systems and plug them in. Like majority of others. Cha Ching
