Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Apparently, The Emperor Has New Clothes (Employee satisfaction survey)

Saw this in another thread and thought it was worth highlighting. This person is spot on! Unfortunately, the more things change, the more they stay the same. I wonder what it will be like in UK&I.

Today's AMS call shows that the new leadership is nothing but the same leadership in new clothes. "Merit" based increases "should" happen in 3-4 months. Well what about every single individual who has not received a pay increase in over SIX years??? Oh - and what about the bell curve reviews? Yup, those are staying in place. I remember for four years straight, I was told by my then manager that if he could, he'd rate me a 1, but was told by HR that he could not rate anyone a 1....so he had to rate me a 2 - with obviously no pay increase. F*** this place.

It's a sure bet that everyone at DXC will receive a 5% payrise on 1 April, which coincidentally happens to be April Fools' Day. #IseeDXC

Mike s sounds genuine on the calls, but until he gives a firm commitment and date of pay rise can we believe any of what he says. I guess April not far off so we should be getting our pay rise emails shortly if he is genuine, honest, and fair.

That's the art of bul sheet. You convince everyone your friendly and pay rises are coming but never actually reward the staff. You put up all kinds of barriers and excuses to give a rise.

In the meantime you take in millions and ride off into the sunset. Hang on isn't that the same as what MJL did, so what's changed? Nothing.

Same as before.

Just listened to the AMS quarterly call....what complete and utter drivel. Sal talks a good game but it's all hollow. He has no idea how dumb his managers are...

4% pay hike here. Not delivery.

I'm with the OP. There's nothing new here. Easiest way to improve morale would be to give a 5% increase to everyone and tell Wall Street to pound sand for a few quarters. That will NEVER happen though....

I know it its somewhat old news but "DXC also assumes it will be able to generate net capital proceeds of about $5 billion for these three businesses, Saleh said. Of that, DXC expects to deploy $4.25 billion or more to repurchase shares and pay dividends over the next 10 quarters," he said."

https://www.crn.com/news/running-your-business/dxc-technology-planning-to-divest-three-of-its-businesses

Why not use that 4.25 billion to give raises to your employee's , we haven't seen an increase in 6+ years and most of the US based resources that I work with deserve it. Some of the India resources too.

Some of us did get raises. I got 6%. It’s who you know. Sorry to say that, but keeping it honest with my brethren here since it won’t be long before they do to me what they do to you.

I agree with @1fpe+13h5OXKM. Sal said they valued the Americas and that it was important for DXC. Obviously not since we are not getting raises again this year. :(

I vomited in my mouth listening to that AMS call. It is virtually identical to the garbage we heard with the Chief Steak Cutting Officer....

"Did you catch that they said they are paying the Indians and other off-shore first? Like, NOW. A big FU to the Americas. NO valid explanation why."

Two reasons I'd guess:

1) In pure dollar terms, that's cheapest (5% to everyone offshore is waaay less $)

2) There are more offshore, they actually do most of the work (sorry its true - just by the number of them)

And maybe #3:

They still hate USA/Western European workers and would like them to leave off their own backs - cheaper than WFR. Replace the old/skilled/highly paid with cheap kids, save $$$$$$$

Are they going to tell you that on a AMS call? Of course they aren't.

Well if I get no raise this year, I am slowing down to just enough to not be fired and since we in AMS have so called unlimited vacation,

Exactly what I will do also

Nothing will change except more skrewing the staff over. Pay rises will never happen so stick to minimum work.

Well if I get no raise this year, I am slowing down to just enough to not be fired and since we in AMS have so called unlimited vacation, i am taking as much as my manager approves. I already down about $15,000 assuming only a 2% raise that was missed over the years.

I say if management wants screw us, I'll screw them 1st.

I am looking hard for a new job, but being over 59 inst helping with the job search, unless I want to contact short term work and travel. Which I don't.

Milk and apples (this has been proved by Science, comrades) contain substances absolutely necessary to the well-being of a pig. We pigs are brainworkers. The whole management and organisation of this farm depend on us. Day and night we are watching over your welfare. It is for your sake that we drink that milk and eat those apples. Do you know what would happen if we pigs failed in our duty? Mike Lawrie would come back! Yes, Mike Lawrie would come back!

Somehow it seemed as though the farm had grown richer without making the animals themselves any richer—except, of course, for the pigs and the dogs.

I do not understand it. I would not have believed that such things could happen on our farm. It must be due to some fault in ourselves. The solution, as I see it, is to work harder. From now onwards I shall get up a full hour earlier in the mornings.

They have made changes Glassdoor now has two separate entities for DXC, the older one is still 'DXC Technology' with mixed results since formation back in 2017 and the new one is called 'DXC' - started in Jan 2020 ~ mostly with positive results.
