Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

If you’re not selected and want to go into the PDC you’re already terminated and have to do it with your personal phone?

@df This is surprising. I’ve seen this before but with specific individuals. i doubt they will inform you in person. Likely over a call. That’s how everything has been done up to now.

actually I am out of scope and i just want to drive in to see the people I know. I will go in all 4 days next week because I will miss the ones that leave and i will be happy for the ones that stay. I went in this past Monday and it was like a morgue, no one was in the office.

Yes it’s true, losing access 6/19 and 6/20 PDC opens. Those left standing are relying on PDR’s to nominate them. Very harsh and lacks empathy IMO.

Don't you own a cellphone, you know that thing planted in your A$$ that controls everything you do? Well, now all of a sudden none of the millennials and such know anything about internet access or how to use it. This is Priceless!! LMAO!!!!!

@dg, Wouldn't that mean you drive in either way? The logical choice would be , stay home, because if you Don't get the notice you didn't waste a trip, right?

Normally I do not work in office on Monday but I am going to the office just to be ready to drop off my stuff. No reason to get the notice at home and have to drive in.

I heard from a high level manager, they are walking people to the door on the day you are notified you did not get a position. I was shocked but it rolled off his tongue like everyone in the conversation knew. Maybe, I was the only one in the conversation that did not know, but I must have looked like a deer in the headlights of a car on a dark two lane road. :)

@cj wrong. June 20th you lose access to network, redeployment period starts. You apply for PDC jobs via Internet link from your personal computer.

Not true. If not selected your end date will be at the end of your 4 week redeployment. You do not lose access until your term date takes effect. People stop stirring up sh@t.

Correct, they are getting you out of the system and making it difficult for you to apply. PDC option is just a formality to give people hope. If you are hoping for the PDC to save you, you’re better off working on your resume and applying for jobs now. Do not wait to compete with the wave of Houston people laid off.

Yes that’s the word , after the 20th you’ll start losing access to network and will have to communicate with your rep on personal device. I feel like though if you’re not selected, PDC is a slim chance , I heard the jobs are gonna be posted with the intent of broader candidate slate. So much for trying to keep the folks that didn’t make the cut 1H.
