Heard 20 or so people were let go at the Mason plant in Cincinnati. This company loves to pull the rug without any warnings!!

@a7 that’s not 100% factual. Warn is only required when there are a certain amount or percentage of people being laid off at one plant. When you have several locations and layoff people from each, it’s not looked at collectively. It’s looked at individually per site. As long as they follow requirements (which they discuss with legal) they’re fine. Like when rockwall laid off over 200 people they had to submit to warn.

@d6 created a new subr and then a thread started discussing layoffs and now the thread is gone.

Every time I think this company can't get worse or more embarassing... can't wait for the new subreddit to pop up before EOD today

It’s because it was L3Harris and not l3harrisunofficial or something like that. Corporate probably went to Reddit and had it removed for acting as an official subreddit. Someone make a new one with a different name

Well... L3 are the trusted disruptor... makes sense they would disrupt the Reddit community as well.

It might have been some of the sh-t-posting from ChrisKubeBasic-ish named accounts. But then those accounts would surely just be banned? With the whole subreddit gone, are they alleging it was impersonating the company?

If the layoff starts tomorrow, we need to sue Reddit for helping cover the L3Harris mess. I am sure L3Harris is hiding something or doing something illegal, or finally CEO will let go.

It's interesting that they banned it with the reason they did, because other similar sub reddits are still up, like r/Raytheon. My best guess is big layoffs are coming, and someone from corporate saw the subreddit and saw people discussing the layoffs. In my opinion the big whigs don't want a centralized place for employees to discuss potential layoffs, so they threw a dart at Rule 5 (even though it's BS) to remove the central place where we could all discuss what was going on.

"IF" layoffs begin tomorrow, you can bet your sweet cheeks this was timed on purpose.

Shame on L3Harris, and Reddit as well.

I tried to view the Reddit group on the Wayback Machine site but the last snapshot taken was May 24th.

possible that big layoffs are coming and corporate legal managed to pull the plug on r/l3harris to keep the ruckus down

How does a community get unbanned on reddit?

I’m not surprised since corporate gets posts on this site taken down all the time

Should make a new subreddit called k4jarris… it’s not l3harris at that point

@a7 Why would HQ be worried about WARN lawsuits? There have been layoffs before that happened in the usual manner to avoid WARN.

@a8 HQ doesn't want people to know the emperor has no clothes.

Or maybe the Kube had a tantrum over the post suggesting he could be replaced by ChatGPT.

@a6 That is strange a whole community gets banned. I wouldn't think there's any confusion about the subreddit being an official channel. It was up earlier today. I didn't notice any post that would be banning fodder unless someone from the company complained.

Reddit was banned after numerous employees discussed potential layoffs with their managers this week. HQ is frantic, worried about a possible lawsuit for not complying with WARN. Additionally, the leaks from management suggest that the coming weeks will be interesting.

How did the whole sub reddit get banned? Like if one person was impersonating, wouldn’t they get banned, not the whole subreddit?

@a4 probably because it looked like an official channel

Rule 5 says this : You don’t have to use your real name to use Reddit, but don’t impersonate an individual or an entity in a misleading or deceptive manner.
