Now that the January layoffs have taken place I’m curious to know what the directive or guidance was on those and how managers were asked to select who.
Also, what awaits downstream? I think we all know this isn’t over.

The goal is to offshore every possible job. It's really that simple.
@dw it isn’t based solely on age and “white males”. It’s based on higher paid employees in similar roles. All that matters is reducing expenses.
Over 40 and remote appear to be high on their list of targets. Doesn’t matter how good you are at your job, how much value you add, what your skill set is, or how long you’ve been here. If you fall into a certain category you’re dust, unless your manager is going all out to try and protect you (rare here). This company hates its employees and is proactively making things as miserable as possible for most. They want all the power. It’s all about the short term runway. To he-l with doing right by your employees.
They want to make us highly unhappy so we will leave.
@dd I think it's generally people with a lot of tenure that are in that age bracket. It's not only men.
White males between 40-55 above certain grades are being targeted.
I think the strategy is to whittle down the legacy employees until the company runs solely off H1Bs and AI (another indian) as another anon pointed out. I identified as "multiple races" and "non-binary" when I got hired so hopefully I outlast the rest of the whites at least until this company is a teeming cesspool resembling the original country all these so called "highly qualified" automatons escaped from. Give it a couple years and the offices will be fetid latrines, if they aren't already.
Sorry for the long post by the way. This company has nuked my will to live, and to all the boomers who will say, "just get another job" they are all like this. Thanks for selling out our country and leaving nothing for future generations.
I believe it'll be AI driven - Another Indian of course.
