Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

How do they select who is being laid off?

Anyone with experience relating to this? Who makes the final call? Who puts the names on the list?

@dc I was laid off a few months ago after just shy of 20 years. The majority of the people I know who have been laid off in the past year had been with Target 15+ years. It seems as if they are getting rid of the employees who have been there a long time and have higher salaries are hiring people with less experience that they can pay less. The fact you’ve been there 4 weeks could work for you or against you…it’s a crapshoot! I wish you the best!

The external consulting agency they have engaged will, as in past RIF's, work to ensure that the layoff cohort is evenly balanced among age and race. They will publish this information in the documents you are presented with if you are impacted along with non-disparagement agreements in order to receive severance.
