So original this was scheduled for June July, but now March. What’s behind the rush?

@2dn several people were let go in April 2025. This is a group completely destroyed by DEI.
@2dn you meant untouchable? Not true.
The rumor has it that operations lubes group are in touchable is this true ? If so I need to apply for a position in that group. Any thoughts out there?
@b4 how come they don’t tell us the truth?
Does anyone out there know the truth on what’s going on at STCH ? No one is talking
Is that true?
Couple of thoughts.
First of all, what did everyone expect to happen a job called “project and technology director” when projects and technology went away? Robijn was always getting the door, very obviously. So there is no need for some huge upset drama rumor here.
Second. Yes - any billable P&T plus some mainstays I am sure will be unmapped. And then they will have to apply for their own job pool with less allowance. And then they will get mandatory lower and/or slowly removed through other means by the businesses where they land due to being overpaid relative to their new business as well as having no political standing. Again, extremely predictable.
It is a great time to make sure you abide by every single policy, especially attendance, and then to hope for a package in July if you are P&T / IT.
I am not as sure that AI people are going to be shown the door as everyone else seems to be. A quick look at the market tells me that our competitors and plenty of other heavy industries, competitors, and software companies would be more than happy to scoop up the experienced AI talent if Shell is not satisfied with them. The more rational move here would be to test anyone with the AI title and get rid of title inflation plus any excess personal beyond billable hour or embedded business demand. This is a far cry from the firing all of AI people are seeming to crave, and it is had already begun. A survey went out about changing skill pools and what may be needed to keep AI in your title.
@as word on the street is Robin was not moving fast enough on the “Lift & Drift” plan, hence him being shown the door. YL personally taking charge of the P&T integration is the current rumor. Once P&T integration into the businesses is complete the collateral damage will be the support staff left without jobs. This and AI is and will be the downfall of P&T.
and by “people” we mean EVPs have changed
i really do not like how the whole thread would make you think layoffs begin march due to the acceleration of the time table
in that same email it said only EVPs until july and that wael is standing in as EVP who robert will report to. facts please. don’t freak people out with bad phrasing
Would these changes trigger a wide reorg or it will only targeting us (P&T folks)
@et Project Engineering reorg
@e3 what’s speed26?
@e0 Posted on the Hub, maybe a week or two ago. 'Go live' is March 1st and Robin will be making his exit Feb 28th. Changes to the HR (and Finance?) systems won't be updated until Jul 1st.
@e1 Recent SEAM reorg, resulting in fewer FTEs. March 1st was the 'go live', before it was officially announced that the P&T reorg 'go live' was being brought forward. Speed26 also has a 'go live' of March 1st.
can you tell me - what job losses have resulted from a lift and shift that hasn’t even happened yet?
i feel like im taking crazy pills reading this thread or from an alternate reality
wait what?
thats incorrect. the move still takes place in july according to the emails we all got sent
did something new go out friday?
@b4 how so? What is the future state?
This. The LT promised no job losses during the lift-and-shift (which wasn’t even true), and very deliberately made no commitments beyond it.
Robin left earlier than initially planned, so they moved everything early too.
They can’t wait to offload the whole thing together. No more Shell Westhollow I am afraid.
They realized they couldn't squeeze in another reorg this year if they didn't start the transition earlier.
Robin got fired.
