Kroger told employees last week it would no longer offer paid emergency leave to unvaccinated employees who contract COVID, as of Jan. 1. Furthermore, all unvaccinated managers and nonunion employees will have an extra $50 added to their monthly health plan costs.

I almost forgot it is that time of year for Fox News annual War On Christmas.
As I lay out clothes to start work tomorrow morning I am having a tough time being merry. The only gift I will be given is two weeks of delayed beatings.. the product will still not ship for lack of parts but the manager-director-siteleader-and-higher who usually send help (“aka micromanage and verbally abuse until it changes) are for sure NOT working. Unless you call answering emails on their cell phones working.
How about this.
All I want for Xmas is for Honeywell to ban cell phones. If it was important there would be someone scheduled to work it. Copy China.. disable mobile email during non work hours. You have the technology. Turn it off.
This goes for all executives too.. the same executives who claim work should be done at the office are the ones who created open floor plans with no personal space anywhere … have laptop will work.
Be courageous, end the hypocrisy and double talk. you want to end remote work … end it. Dump the standard laptop and issue desktop machines. Turn off the vpn and force work at the office. Or is that NOT the goal and really it is more like “work everywhere, every when, even over the normally scheduled holidays?”
Why would Honeywell issue laptops to everyone and then say work should be done at the office?
And they wonder why we look at them with contempt?
Isn't it winter holiday now we can't say then other words that's what on the company calendar now to me unreal they gone that far with it. But I will say Merry Christmas and happy new year to all friends at the job and outside of the job.
For some, like the OP, this is probably easy to say. They have a good sense of job security, got a good raise, and maybe a bonus. For others, who are fighting for their jobs, and against medical discrimination, not so much...
We all should cancel vacations and help ES out. We all know how important $$$ is to HW. More important then air and water. Get back to work

We were asked to work through Xmas break to make up revenue in a giant zoom meeting.
Xmas cancelled. Holiday spirit measuring zero.
Only hobby I have time for after 12 hour work shifts is leaving one star reviews of Honeywell products on retail sites and trashing the brand on hanger talk.
Also.. Xmas decorations are not considered appropriate for work as they denigrate other minority cultures.
