Severance - Years of Service Calculation?

If you're months away from the next year, will they increase it by 1, or only give you full years served?

I missed my anniversary date by literally 37 days. Raised issue up to local leadership and HR both officially and unofficially since I knew a trusted source.

It is for full years served at the time of you termination date.

HOWEVER, if you reach an anniversary date while you are on your non working leave, that counts as meeting a full year.

For example: Your anniversary is in March. You were laid off in February and your last official day as an employee is in April. You will get credit for the year that was completed in March.

@OP

You should ask HR because some companies calculate severance including fractions or partial years, for example 5.5 years or 66 months.
