Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

What a great work day today . . .

I had 35 hours in the office already this week before I woke up this morning. That meant only 5 hours were needed to get to my 40 hours. Got in at 7am, found my desk, connected to the wifi and chilled for 5.25 hours. Left the office by 12:30 and grabbed lunch and a beer before getting home. Forcing me to work 40 hours a week in the office really opened my eyes to what is really important. That I can thank Stank for.

CAN YOU DO THAT?

I mean, “cool”.

I can’t tell if you’re just trolling or not, but the fact is, you are not in compliance with the policy. The focus is not on average weekly hours it’s on average daily. As you’re supposed to do a minimum of 8 hours in the office, every single day that you report to office.

Your boss might be “cool” with what you’re doing…for now. They will be called out on it eventually. As will you. Our organization already targeted the half day every Friday crowd.

@dd , you mean for y’all working at Dallas HQ? I don’t work at HQ, & our Director said to just “average” ~8 hours x ~five days. If yours is an HQ exclusive mandate, it must be to k1ss C suite @$$.

@cc You all don’t have day meetings? I have meetings all day. How can you report to work early and take off early when you have meetings to attend?

Since they want all of their management in Dallas, the meeting are all held in CST. This gives the folks on PST a benefit to start at 0600 and pull out at 1400.

my AD on behalf of my AVP said we need to be at HQ 8 hours a day- it doesn’t matter if we work 3 or 4- 12 hour days in a row. we still have to be there the remaining days for 8 hours! :)

So, hear me out…

If’n we decide to just spend the night and work 24 hours for almost two days, we can take off 5 days a week! Like firemen, only we don’t have nice recliners and the whole saving lives thing.

40 hours is overachieving. 7.3/day is plenty.

This is quite literally the only thing that matters anymore so it’s just 8 & skate it can wait. I’ve gained at least 10 hours of my life back per week. Play stupid games win stupid prizes, stink

Yup. I left at 12:30 today also. The reports look good. Averaging 8 hours a day.
