Thread regarding CDW layoffs

Do not Sign anything!!!

You don't have 48hr to sign, don't let them pressure you. You have 2yrs. Get yourself a lawyer and get what you deserve. 3 months salary and benefits for 6 months is rubbish for 15+ years of service.

They stood firm with me yesterday and when they received my attorney's letter and call, they extended the timeline to accept the offer so that they could speak to him. They are already bending. HIRE AN ATTORNEY!

Yes they will. Remember Donald Trump, who I despise, saved my husband's job at Whirlpool by visiting and telling them not to layoff and move. Quit being a nay sayer and call and you will find out. CDW does work for the government and the RNC and if they know they are doing that and causing poor unemployment, they will threaten to pull their contracts and CDW will back off. It worked for Dell this recent time. They made promises to the people and they will not allow them to do that and do business with them. Especially if you also call Fox news and they report that a company that gets billions from the government contracts if moving jobs to Mexico. That would cause them votes so yes, they care and will pull contracts away if we don't bend. Trust me! My father works in procurement in the GOV and gave me that advise because he has already seen it work when others did it.

This might be the most naïve and insane post I've seen yet. You think the government will give a damn about massive corporations shipping jobs? They haven't cared for 20-40 years. Get over yourself. No one is looking out for you. This isn't a politics problem - it's a class war. It's a big club, and you ain't in it.

Go for what you deserve. Especially if you are a minority. woman, or are older.

Will they pull back the severance offer if you ask for more? I’ve contacted a lawyer who reviewed and said it seemed ok to sign. But I don’t agree with the numbers offered. Torn on what to do now.

The right advise is also to contact the White House, government, RNC offices, and Foc media to make sure they know they are shipping jobs overseas. They may cancel government and military concerts and force the jobs back from overseas. I

That is the right advise. Hire an attorney. They keep pushing forward because there are only a few that fight so the consequences are minimal. It's a business move. If you can get rid of the old folks that are making more money and they don't fight, why stop. Hire an attorney. They will settle fast because they don't want the CDW name to be associated with age discrimination. You will not regret it. Take it from someone that did.

The deadline is arbitrary and a pressure tactic. Consult with an employment lawyer and take the time you need.

They will pay you. How else can Chris Leahy afford that home at 30 Tide Watch in Newport California for weekends like they listed in the post below. They have the money.

That is correct. And the ones that refused, like me, received a better settlement or more months in pay. And call the media and have them look into it without giving them your name. My buddy did that at another company and they looked into the age thing and they started settling with their coworkers so they wouldn't talk to any one.
