Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

What is standard for the 90 day notice period?

Is it typical that the 90 day notice period (in NY) is non-working? Has anyone been asked to work that whole period?

Some people got to work til friday others were effectively immediately. The work to Friday must feel like torture.

@df reading is fundamental. Boss told me on a Wednesday that my role was eliminated but that I could continue working until Friday if I wanted. That's when I laughed, slid my ID across the desk and walked out. Didn't play myself, unless you count the non working notice and severance package I just collected.

NY - boss told me last working day was a Friday. Had access revoked before that. Full 90 days paid.

@d5 I sure did, knowing that I would never have to work for that God-forsaken company ever again.

It is a non-working period to start (typically) on the Friday after the Wednesday notification. I was told on Wednesday that I could work until Friday. I laughed, told my then-boss to F himself, handed my ID across the table and walked out of the building.

in Finance, the warn notices are handed in on Wednesday, personnel stays on-line until Friday. no one works beyond that. as I understand, it's done also for banks's security . they don't want laid-off people to have access to confidential info.

My question is, at Citi, what is typical? For other people who were laid off, how long did they make you work?

WaRN allows employers to keep you working during 90 days notice - the only requirement is that they gife you notice of layoff in 90 days not that you are required to take garden leave. Sorry if they are making you work.

@ in New York , it is 90 days. You cannot work those 90 days as you get paid full pay. If you do get a job and take it before the 90 days you must notify them. Officially you’re still employed by the bank during the 90 day. Period.
