Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

It's all about the execs pay and share price

Companies are no longer here for the good of their staff. It's all about the execs pay and share price. It's all illusion and spin. Everyone for themselves.

Sadly, this is how things are now and people need to accept it. Whenever I see posts that bemoan how the leadership doesn't care about us, I just shake my head. Of course they don't. They care about money. And they get more money by sc--wing the rest of us over. That's our new reality and people should accept it if they don't want to drive themselves crazy thinking how those at the top should "care about us." That's a child's way of thinking.

@d5 I don't see why not. The only working WBS code I have is the Underutilised code, so I'm maxing that out regardless what I'm actually doing. I do hope Oasis is monitoring it and puts me on a list for VR when it finally realises my salary cost is higher than the billable work I will have managed to do this year.

@ah I ask myself the same question every day. We are retained because nobody will stand up to the client and say if you do not have the work for our people then we are going to let them go or will be charging you to retain them on standby. Despite the endless sheets - nobody is actively managing any of it. DXC remains not one company but still a [C]ollection of [S]mall [C]ompanies, all with their own ways of doing things. It's easy to fall through the gaps. Whilst some are maxed out, and others say they are. It's clear I'm not the only one just biding my time waving and shouting - make me redundant you stupid id--ts. But they don't hear it, and say no we might have some work coming next month. This has now been going on since April!

Some of the stuff I read here is insane to me. I am still active on a major client, and working well over 40 hours per week. I have to do two timesheets but it takes < 5 minutes. How the he-l is DXC still employing people that do nothing.

I have spent all morning updating my time sheets, and status trackers - all confirming that I am not doing anything. I have a meeting in 20 minutes to discuss what I'm not doing with my colleagues who will also need to confirm they haven't done anything but update their time sheet and status tracker since around January. There is absolutely no time for any real work around here. It's a good job there isn't any!

We're building a cuttingedge AI model to uncover untapped revenue streams for DXC. This is truly bleeding edge revolutionary stuff.

In the meantime, please stop whatever you're doing and make sure you've logged your time in all 6 of our timetracking systems. We can't uncover new revenue streams if we can't reconcile the 17 minutes you spent on this website across our 4 different accounting platforms.

The future of AI is here and DXC will be leading it.
