@gv In a good job market 50% would take it. This labor market is a disaster and getting worse. So no VSP will be on the table. ELT wants maximum pain delivered to home office for cheapest price.
VSP and ISP door has been open permanently. Instead of pruning low performers on merit who are still around the lazy choice was taken by copying everyone else’s playbook by offshoring US paying jobs and implementing blanket layoffs. Would be foolish to volunteer and walk away for nothing. Wondering if packages were offered again how many take it.
@b5 I doubt they'll find and PIP me. IF they do I'll just laugh at how long it took. Maybe I'll try long enough to get off it and collect more checks. Maybe I'll do nothing and use the PIP period as my severance.

@eh Of course it would make more sense. That is why these people won't do it. These are some of the d-mbest laziest narcisists you will ever find. Sure, they are 'book smart' and know how worm their way through corporate hunger games by boot licking, back stabbing, and pretending to be something they are not. That does not mean they have actual intelligent rational thoughts. They simply behave like lemmings around each other in their echo chambers. No independent thinking, no creativity, no morals, just existing and leeching while getting off at everyone else's misery. They are on the same level as politicians or slip and fall lawyers.
@OP if I were on ELT and dead set on culling the herd, id think it makes more sense to offer a VSP so that people that want to leave do. Wouldn't that be cheaper than having unhappy employees operating at a bare minimum and doing half the work? They can then say.... ooh sorry no backfills and do more with less. Su-ks for those that remain but not like thats going to get any better for them either way
@d5 100% this. These people are out to lunch mentally. If they cared, they wouldn't have done the opposite of everything on all our surveys and then lashed out at all us for not blindly following their lead or licking their boots. These are not normal morally sound people we are dealing with, and I think most of them have deep psychological issues. Just watch how they behave and interact. Tone deaf doesn't even begin to describe them. PP is the head of this entire rotten fish.

I get it, but that’s when they will start looking to fire people ‘with cause.’ Watch out for the set up and PIP. They will be looking at everyone now with a microscope.
I get it, but here is the harsh reality. There won't be another VSP or a heads up for ISP. ELT has lost their minds because the timeline is not moving along as smoothly as they thought. Once RTO 2.0 begins not have as many people quit, ELT will enforce more insane policies before simply laying us off without notice. A corporate temper tantrum. We may get a 60 day WARN notice with perhaps bare min severance payout of like 6 weeks. These people hate us and get pleasure from making people suffer. The best thing all us can do is quietly seek out other jobs that hopefully are not as disgusting as this sewer pipe is getting. It will only get worse from here on out especially as the AI software fails to deliver everything and the price of the software increases.
Why not look elsewhere? Because that's what they want and the other places are no better. I'm padding my transition fund with every pay period and bonus. It's already cost them far more than severance, so joke is on them.
Good luck with waiting? Thank you. It's been uncomfortable for sure. Totally get leaving if you find a better option. Haven't really tried since ER was announced and still getting paid. Best job in town.

Why not just look elsewhere? I doubt there will be any VSP but who knows for sure!
