Not only are the expectations insanely high now, but they also want us to play full-time janitor or custodian on top of everything. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not above cleaning, but seriously—can you imagine a commission or performance-based job where you’re expected to scrub toilets and haul other people’s trash every other day? This is ridiculous. Big Red is straight-up down bad right now

@4bf+1kn3nmme0 I don't know if you're actually a cleaner but this is so true. We ain't cleaning anything and it just builds up one extra day to be more work for the cleaning crew
Wait. Imma cleaner for a verizon store. We got cut to three days. And its bs. But nobody os cleaning that store but me still. No employees clean on any days im jot there. So days i do clean im in there twice as long. Same hours and work for half the pay. Wth
Heard going to 1 ply toilet paper to save money
I don’t mind washing down the tables, however I do have a problem with scrubbing toilets.. We use to let noone use the bathrooms unless its a pregnant woman. Now, we have to let everyone use them. I don’t get paid enough to scrub toilets. It’s rediculous.
@d5 Then YOU glove up and wipe customers ur--e/ cr-p stains off a toilet seat. Reps are there to sell.
As a sales person for VerLieZone, you should know that we are the ones that make the money for the company. Nobody will pay for a protection plan that is damn near 20 bucks a month without us endlessly talking about the 'benefits'. Nobody want's to save just a few bucks on a perk monthly. Pay 684 dollars over 3 years for a maybe it will break, hahaha. I'll just buy the phone outright and pay to get it fixed at a 3rd party for that cost. They can try to get online to do it all but will fail every time. They lie and say that online sales are better than in store sales, I've seen the percentage metrics on those..it's not all they say it is.
Trust me when I say sales people are the reason this company lives and breathes at this point. This won't change until the structure changes.
You’re going to learn this sooner or later, so it might as well be from some random person on the internet you probably won’t believe anyway.
They’re shutting down all the stores. Every building they own is going away — both retail locations and offices. Work-from-home will be the only option.
If you’re in sales, you probably should have seen this coming. Salespeople just aren’t that important anymore, and most people don’t want to talk to another human just to buy something. It often comes across like a used-car salesman routine.
The company is transitioning into an AI-focused company, like many others are doing. It may be time to start seriously thinking about things like universal basic income.
If you can’t work above the machine (designing, directing, or managing it) or work with your hands in ways machines can’t easily replace, you’re going to have a hard time.
this is the expectation at most indirect doors to do your own cleaning.
There are a lot of other areas to save that would be better suited then sanitation and cleanliness.
@OP it is literally just a retail sales job…..I don’t think it’s that wild they ask you to keep clean here and there. Would you rather they try and reduce OPEX by asking the retail staff to clean a couple days a week or would you rather they reduce OPEX by closing locations and/or selling to indirect……? I think cleaning isn’t too bad.
