Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Is it worth to come back?

Hi I’m currently at a company with higher pay but toxic manager. Thinking to return back to company with same title and pay when I left. Is it worth the switch?

Life is a beautiful thing. Don't let employment at Optum ruin that.

Only if you hate yourself or your family should you go back. This is a “Layoff company.”

My team lost people 3 out of the last 4 quarters in 2025. We expect to lose more in 2026. The company is even more unstable than it was in 2020 for layoffs. Projects are being shut down as well as work being moved to India and the Phillipines.

Never return to a company you left . Especially one that has so many layoffs. Learn to play your current managers game . Toxic people are everywhere have to learn to manage them.

Never go back to any job! Remember you left the job in the first place for a reason.
Move on. Best wishes.

Unless you know for certain you'll be placed into a good area of the company, if there are any still, I wouldn't say so.

This company has become incredibly toxic, due to the rampant increase in offshoring, nonsensical re-orgs that drive good people out, etc. My opinion? Look elsewhere.
