Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Is the expected impact 6–8%, 20–40%, or limited to a few products?

Posts are all over the place.
Thoughts?

RSUs don't vest normally but I have heard rumors of high performers receiving some or even all of their unvested RSUs if they're laid off. Small fry ICs receive severance and nothing more.

@e0 I was let go this month. RSU vesting stops on the date of your separation.

@d3 The unused vacation you acquired prior to 2026 will be paid similarly to other paychecks. 401k contributions will occur and will be matched by the company if you have not reached the limit. Taxes will also be taken out at your current rates. This happened to me this month.

@d5 I have been at Netapp for 10 years and have been through multiple layoff rounds. I can’t recall any redundancies end of June. My guess is next week..

@b1 VPs and their underlings are obnoxious in management across the board.

You have a severance package. ICP/RSU isn’t a guarantee. If you’re laid off you lose RSUs, Inassume ICP is the same.

@d2 are you saying that people are saying that layoffs might happen on June 25 etc ?
What do you mean it is to stop many people from jumping the ship at the same time

@d2 There is no warn notice, so either way they have to keep us till July 18 and people will get their ICP. I don't think the ICP theory works here. Not saying they won't layoff, but people should get their ICP

@c5 Is the paid leave the severance or is the severance after the "garden" leave? Anyone know?

@b1 Heard lots of rumors about the June 25-26 date RE: icp.
Some said it is to keep too many from jumping ship after the year end.
I've heard others say it is to fund the severance packages that will be coming.

If a big layoff is coming, it's likely NetApp will put the employees on garden leave first to avoid WARN notices. Leadership wants product feature work complete before losing employees. If they filed a notice, production would slow down for that time period and the company would miss milestones. The only silver lining is a few months of paid leave until you depart.

Do your jobs but don't ki-l yourself for this company. Act your wage.

Does it matter? Everyone is trying to jump ship, do the bare minimum and keep looking for a new opportunity!

History will study how GK and the VPs destroyed an excellent company
