This 4 days a week sitting in a cubicle is literally soul crushing. I worked remotely or mostly remotely for years before CVX and only came here under the guise of flexible work and I would give up an annual bonus and $30k a year to wfh. If the hiring market weren’t so dismal I’d already be out.

Yea, I would take a pay cut right now to work remote with the way things are going but that's not an option. I have checked around and the only companies that hire remote with anything close to what I do pay less, have much lower benefits and they apparently don't need any dried up CVX workers or maybe it's just me. I think that's just the way the math works. Too many people want remote so it's an employer's market.
@a2 suuuuuuuure. Weekend well spent upvoting yourself, haha.
And so you will, when AI replaces you
@bt+1kpbzbhyd, Correct. First time seeing quotes?
@d2
For anyone in the USA that does not know, the remote locations, Manilla, India, and BA are WFH at least 2 days per week.
Coworkers who are leaving are doing so to find remote jobs are out there. Keep trying because we will not be going back to remote but other companies are offering the flexibility.
This is also a sign of how they feel about onshore vs offshore employees. There’s no future here for us. Do what is best for you.
@bg
Quit is not spelled “quite”
@a6, so you admit that you are a slacker and also you whine and pout like a petulant rebellious child when you don't get your way. No big surprises here.
I'd like to "quite quietly " do something, but I'm too busy now, check back later.
You made MWs day posting this. Crushing people's souls gets him up everyday.
@a2 is one of those, who thinks talking at the coffee bar for 30 mins or having an hour long gab session to “catch up” everyday is “working”.
@a2 actually I got EE on my performance reviews when I was working primarily remotely. In the office I’m quite quitting. You think being in the office and being babysat increases productivity? Be so real. When you hate your environment you underperform. Please don’t ever apply to lead people. :)
Of course you would. If you do a whole lot less or almost nothing, and mostly take care of personal business you should get paid less. It's been bragged about on this very site on many occasions.
