Been glued to this site since the reorg announcement couple years back and it's just spiraling downwards. Total implosion is the only way to describe it. The culture and morale? Words fail me. Honestly, I'm starting to feel bummed that I haven't been laid off yet. I'd rather face starvation and homelessness than deal with this mess. Seriously considering quitting outright.
And I've got 20 years in the banking world under my belt, worked at multiple banks, but I've never seen anything this chaotic and awful. I'm actually surprised we haven't racked up more regulatory violations, but with the way things are going, it feels inevitable.
This past month has been beyond terrible. Almost everyone in my department has either been laid off, quit, or jumped ship to a new role.

You should quit mate. Resign with no 2 weeks notice. Run! Go join your colleagues at whichever forms they ran off to

@d2 Citi's consent order is not lifted. Sure, this administration will make it easier to get it closed later this year, but as of now the consent order is very much there. Except, one small article has been withdrawn - the article that was added in 2023/4 that made it mandatory for Citi to share the org model and profile of data and risk personnel being used to address the consent order....which Citi got lucky with. A half serious admin would have failed Citi, seeing the nepotistic boot l1ckers and unskilled clowns that it employed for the CO
Yeah - this is my 4th bank and they all have been larger banks. I have never seen anything like it. The way they are navigating it is just horrible. I am also surprised we are not in more regulatory trouble. I am betting our consent orders wouldn’t have lifted already had we been under a different administration.
I’m starting to dig my trench in a forest for survival
Don't be frustrated. If you want to quit, do it! More attrition means fewer people are being let go. Do it out of love for others.
I quit/retired outright after not getting RIFd in Jan. 8 months short of ny birthday target. It’s the best decision I’ve made. Truly glorious. Every day is my own.
Yeah sure you'd rather face starvation and homelessness. Why don't you go glamping next weekend then come back and tell us how ready you are to rough it.
