I’m in the process of interviewing at Humana with a panel scheduled soon, in the Quality space. What is the culture and vibe like? Humana used to be the market leader in Medicare, the envy of all payers and after looking at this job board, stock prices and Stars ratings I’m surprised to see that things have not been as stellar? Any insights would be appreciated.

RUN. No one in their right mind wants to work here. Run run far and quickly. Again I say RUN.
@d2
Would be willing to give me some guidance/more details on your position or of any openings? Thank you.
Reading the posts on this site is all the insight you need. If you are one of those eternally optimistic and can ignore shady practicies, Humana is the place for you. It will never be able to drain your soul. I would say in that case, you should go for it.
Do not proceed. You are wasting time and if if this is the corporate quality investigation department, please know that over 60% of the nurses have departed and the team is desperate. Plan is to eventually move all that work to Manila.
Leadership is terrible. Top heavy. Talk work life balance but little to none. ERP offered every 2-3 years and if not taken, lay offs, or positions eliminated with some lame, BS excuse. Recent centralization is disaster. CEO with reputation of loosing companies. Seems to be wrapping in pretty bow for highest bidder in 1-2 years.
You know the movie “Get Out” well the remake RUN !!
Humana is hiring? They must be hiring people under 30.
Honestly unless you are desperate for a job, I'd look elsewhere. This is not the company it was 5-10 years ago.
My role is in quality and I love the work I do and the team I'm on is great. Good luck!
This used to be a great company. Now it is run by a greedy, out of touch c-suite that is gobbling up every little company and expanding way too fast. Out of touch leaders that only want the appearance of leading. The second you actually want to put in place processes to make things run better, they take you to HR for “making waves”. If you want to be a leader here, beware! It’s nothing but meetings about how you can’t meet metrics because the staffing model they give you is about half of what it should be, meaning metrics will never actually be met…which is then met with more meetings (instead of getting the work actually done). If you do get the job, keep your head low and do barely enough to survive! Don’t let the corporate greed consume you!!!
I am a quality analyst at Humana. I am very happy and work with a wonderful team.
Your leader, the person you report to is everything. Even though some may seem nice, they could have a dark side of following 'orders', definitely not on the associate side when needed, absolutely taking all credits and justifying his/her position by creating managing work. No one really cares!! Only take the job if you're desperate for a pay check. Could be taxing to mental health. That's a warning. Quality is only a show, to be compliant in Humana. It's not an area of priority. Job not secure.
Humana is in a period of transmission. It really depends on what region you work in and who you report to. Some people are happy in their role.
Quality is the absolute worst of the worst. You can forget having any type of work/life balance because Humana owns you. Weekends, long days, tons of unpaid overtime simply to keep your head above water. You will not only be held accountable for quality metrics but you will be delegated 10 other hats to wear for other departments in addition. The words direct relationship individual and relationship owner is their way of saying that you are responsible for all aspects of it even when it has nothing to do with quality or stars or hedis.
You don't want to interview here.
Run.
Best of luck to you during your interview!
NEVER consider this place-- it is toxic, manipulative, full of bs and dying a very slow death. Don't get it..you will want to get ouit!
Run. Lay offs every year. To many upper management making decisions on jobs they know nothing about.
Run !!! Unless you want to work in he-l
